The Truth behind our Fate ![]() The Truth behind our Fate
‘You control the way the world responds to you by the way you conduct yourself.’ We humans often fantasize on having a better world to dwell in. We tend to create this big picture of peaceful world, yet, we often neglect the fact that we are the ones who pollute and destruct it. We even fail to ask ourselves, ‘am I playing my part for the betterment of this place?’ As the saying goes, “It is our choices that show what we truly are, far more that our abilities’, we are the ones who create our own problems! The fact that we are given this freedom to choose, has somehow been abused. The illusions of the world have made people crave for materialism even more that lead us to the edge of the cliff. This seems like an irony since we are also given the gift to rationalize— yet, only few use it. The reality is that, we are having big problems personally and even create conflicts with others because ‘we choose to’. We can’t blame the situations that we are in for having been suffering for their consequences since it is us who see things as they are. The intensity of the difficulties that we are experiencing depends on whether we take them positively or negatively. It is more of a fact that we opt to choose or look at things the way we want it. Yet, it is never the case— not everything that we want shall be heeded. Also, the problem with us humans is that we often see difficulties as problems and not us opportunities! We are fond of dreaming and wishing yet we tend to avoid tough roads in order to achieve them. We always want to have things as ‘easy as eating a piece- of- cake’ rather than baking and tasting the bitter- sweet part of having it. More so, humans as we are, we are highly driven to settle for where our comfort zones would best fit— without even thinking about the outcomes. I don’t believe that we are unaware of it, but rather, we just choose to be blinded because the truth hurts so badly. We’re afraid that our own sets of standards won’t be met accordingly. That’s how selfish and mediocre we are! The problems that we are encountering right now rooted from our own way of thinking. It’s in the mind. We never achieve that peace in the world since we, ourselves, don’t have peace of mind for we are never contented with what we have. We often ask for more than what is offered and that what we need. It’s our attitude towards things that creates melancholy. We fail to recognize our own mistakes and we never learn from them because we are lulled by the thought that it would make us less of a person— which is in contrast to the reality. It is said that the only way out of difficulty is through it— which I agree with. We are created with a lot of potentialities. We are set through many complicated roads for they make us grow. We can never escape from them. Problems are what comprise this world. Only if we learn to face them and that go with the flow of life that we’ll realize how wonderful life is— complicated yet worth it!
