The London Times reported on 5/1/07 that both Lowe's and HD may be interested in acquiring Focus, Ltd., which is the third largest DIY chain in the UK.  It would be the first foray into Europe for either retailer.  Currently, HD operates stores in Mexico, Canada, and China, while Lowe's operates only in the U.S.  A link to the story appears below:

It's been an interesting few months covering Big Orange.  A lot of questions remain for Mr. Blake and company.  Can they restore a customer-focused image?  Can they energize employees to display an entrepreneurial spirit?  Can Blake be a model CEO who returns "realism" to the position?  Will his strategies succeed?

No one knows for sure, but we'll get a sneak preview on 5/15 when first quarter earnings come out.
