Recently,my mom had me to read one of her fav. books,Charlotte Sometimes.I must say,I absolutely loved the book. Its a very cool story about this girl named Charlotte,who finds out her bed makes her swap times with this girl named Clare,from 40 years ago.Now I won't really say too much other than that,just in case someone wants to read it.Even thou the book is from 1969,its still very easy to understand and wonderful.I will warn you thou,the ending is very sad/touching.

Now since I went to the trouble of posting another blog,I think I'll not kill two birds,but three birds with one stone.One of my fav. bands,The Cure,loved the book Charlotte Sometimes so much they actually wrote three songs about it: Charlotte Sometimes(which was released as a single in 1981),Splintered in Her Head(the b-side to the single above), and The Empty World(on their album,The Top).Charlotte Sometimes(the song) would best be described as having dream-like rhythmic and melodic structures.However, the mood of Splintered in Her Head is overall more disquieting, with metallic, distorted vocals and heavy percussion.

Finally,I guess I put what got me to find all this out first.I was watching VH1 a few days ago,and they showed the music video for "How I Could Just Kill a Man" by a new band called "Charlotte Sometimes".(you can watch the video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wo6wXgiehtY ) I loved the song and video and was telling my mom about it,and she said,"Oh,they must have gotten their name from the book." I had no idea there was a book called that,and sure enough when I lated looked up the band,that's where they got their name.My mom then told me about how great the book was and how it was very special to her,and since she still has a copy,she let me borrow it and read it.:p So I guess that's basically where this random 3-in-1 post came from.:3
