Nomar Garciappara will likely miss the season opener because of a broken bone in his right hand and be on DL.

Since being traded from Boston in 04, Nomar has endured one injury after another and has rarely been on the field. He was once destined for the hall 0f fame as a member of the Red Sox but has now been reduced to journeyman status at best. The days of batting in the middle of the order and winning batting titles appear to be a distant memory since forcing his way out of Boston.

Looks like Theo made the right call as the Sox have won 2 titles since unloading the disgruntled star.
