Where did the name Czy_Loon come from?
Quite a few years ago I met some serious gamers who have LAN parties. It didn't take long before I was hooked. They have a clan called the Czy_Canucks. There is a Czy_Horse,Czy_Wolf etc.. I became the Loon because I like the bird and it's call and the name suits my personality %-) Some of the games we play/played are Age of Empires:Conquerors(the one that started it all),Unreal Tournament(GotY & 2004),Ghost Recon,Medal of Honor.....

Where do you get the pictures that you use as a background image on your home page?
The images are Fractals that I have made with a program called Tierazon v29. There is an excellent tutorial here and you can download the program here. You can watch a video slide show of my fractals here.

It's a small download,491kb,so why not give it a try? It comes zipped and it doesn't install anything on your computer. Unzip it to it's own folder and you open the program from there. When you save a fractal it is a bmp and,at 1680 x 1050,it is 3-5Mb.. I use another program called PictureGirdle to change the bmp to a jpg and reduce the size,but not the dimensions, to a few hundred kb. without sacrificing any quality. btw PictureGirdle doesn't install anything either. Just unzip it and click the application.
Mar.18/08: I started using another fractal program yesterday and so far I am very impressed. It's called Sterling and it can be downloaded here. Unlike Tierazon it saves as a jpeg not a bmp. This saves me the trouble of converting and resizing. Like the other programs it doesn't install anything on you computer.
May 24/08: I'm using a third program called Xeno Dream. This one isn't a freebee. There is a free version but it is very limited. You can find the program here.

What browser do you use?
I only use IE when a site demands it,like Microsuck Update. My favorite browser is Firefox. Start using Firefox and install these two add ons, AdBlock PlusandAdBlock Updater.

What search engine do you use to find the links on your site?
Google. I get much better results with it than I do with Yahoo,but my main source for new links is StumbleUpon. I've been using it for a few years now and I wouldn't know what to do without it.

What is the purpose of this site and is there anything that I need to know to take full advantage of the pages?
The site has very little original content. The pages and their themes are just a collection of things that interest me. Basically,it's some of my bookmarks/favorites on a web site. The text is linked to the site that it describes. The pictures and gifs on the pages are also clickable. The link is themed to the picture or gif. The best screen resolution is 1680 x 1050 but they shouldn't look too bad at 1280 x 1024.

Why do some pages say that I have to install additional plugins but there aren't any?
I wish I knew. It seems to be a text/html issue and it only shows up in Firefox.

How often do you update your pages?
Not as often as I should.

Is the software that you link to safe to use?
Yes. Every utility that I link to has been tested on my computer for at least six months before I post it. I use all of them and they are all 32 & 64 bit compatable. Is it easy to use? Does it do what it's supposed to do as well or better that a purchased product? Does the manual updater work? Are there any bugs or spyware? Is it stable? These are some of the things that I test for. All of the software that I use is free. No trials. No shareware. No strings. Some of the programs can be purchased,but they all have a very good free version. Some might show an ad but I can accept that if the software is good,clean and free. Read and understand all of the info about any program before installing it. If you don't understand what the software does or how to use it,don't use it. Example: Revo Uninstaller shows you registry keys that you can delete. If you delete the wrong key you might have to do a format to fix it. I am very careful about what site I link to for the download. I always try to link to the author's homepage. If you don't trust a mirror link that I provide,find the software somewhere that you do trust. Always use an anti virus program and an anti spyware program. Games are only tested by playing them and making sure that they are free of spyware and program bugs.
