Episode 3.8 : 27 Nov 2001 Writer - Russel Friend & Garret Lerner Director Jonathan Frakes Here's one scene from the episode. Scene 8: Mr. Evans is still wondering what Max was really doing in Utah, so he asks Jesse if he can find out from Isabel. Jesse is asking Isabel, and she gets really mad and storms out of the bathroom. Jesse is confused and asks " The whole thing with the floor and the sex?" (I have no idea what that means!) Night at the Deluca house, around the dining room table. We see low-burning candles, empty plates, and a half-full bottle of wine. Maria, holding her glass of wine, sits on the couch. Bill gets a photo album out of his backpack and joins her. Maria gives her compliments to Great-grandma Boretti. Bill hands Maria the photo album. She looks at it and screams. "I look like hell!" Bill thinks she looks great. We focus in on the pictures and see Maria and Bill at band camp; Maria has way short hair and too much makeup. Maria plays guitar in a band with Bill, Maria "so full of hope and life" at the mike. "You're drunk!" says Maria. Bill is, a little, but he denies and insists that Maria looked cute and refers to it as her Pat Benatar phase. Maria tells Bill to burn the photos. Bill tells Maria that it's her dreams that maker her beautiful. "I thought it was my killer bod," jokes Maria. Bill looks into Maria's eyes. "That too," and asks if she's still got them (the dreams). Maria looks down at her chest and says she did the last time she checked. Bill laughs and Maria realizes that he meant her dreams of fame, fortune, and ten platinum records. She says she does; but they've been in hibernation for a while. Bill asks why. Maria says that creatively, it's been a long winter. Bill asks if she's happy, and Maria says that happiness is over-rated and she's not even sure it exist. Bill asks if she's being Maria. "What does that mean?" asks Maria. Bill asks if she's being whom she wants and needs to be. Maria says that that's two different things. "Not to me," says Bill. Maria tries to deflect him by teasing him about his life (hiking through Europe bedding French chicks in haylofts). Bill says that Maria seems sad; but unconvincingly she says that she's happy enough; she's not sad. The candlelight plays off her stoic face as she stares down at the old Maria from happier times. Out in the desert, Michael digs a hole while Max checks off alien artifacts. He says that the healing stones are missing. Michael tells him that they're at Maria's, since thanks to Max Deputy Brown visits Michael's apartment twice a week and he might find them. Just then a freaked out Isabel pulls up and tells Max that it's worse than they thought. She tells him that Mr. Evans has gotten Jesse involved in this project to find out about Max. "We've got to do something, Maxwell." Says Michael. Max knows that they do; but he isn't sure what. Michael knocks on Maria's door. Bill answers, looking like he just woke up. Michael asks why he hasn't left yet. Bill says that he's leaving today. Michael asks for Maria, but Bill says that she just left and offers to take a message. Michael says that he just needs to pick up something and pushes past Bill into the house. He checks out the messy blankets on the couch as he heads past the living room. Bill asks how Steve's wife is. Michael doesn't know what he's talking about at first, but Bill reminds him that Michael was covering for Steve last night because his wife had the flu. Michael says she's fine, and Bill says that Michael missed a great meal last night. Michael says he'll catch it next time and heads back into Maria's bedroom. He pulls open her top nightstand drawer and sees the healing stone. Just then Bill appears in the doorway, offering to help look. Michael slams the drawer closed and says that it's okay. He heads to the closet and pretends to look around some more. Bill asks what exactly he's looking for, Michael just replies that it's something he needs. He pulls out Alex's old guitar and sets it on the bed. Bill asks Michael when Maria stopped writing music. "What?" Michael asks. Bill asks again. Michael replies that she messes around with it once in a while. Bill asks when the last time was. Michael turns around to face Bill and asks if this is going somewhere. Bill says that Maria is really, really good. "I'll keep that in mind," replies Michael, and says that what he's looking for isn't there. The epsisode ends with Michael asking Maria to sing him a song. She plays it for him on Alex's guitar.

They try to straighten up, but Michael's fat Santa suit makes it "hard." Kids have started to gather and gawk. "Mommy, Santa and Snowflake are doing it! theyre doing it," Paul says. Liz looks in and screeches, "Oh my God!" "Cinnamon, cover for us!" Maria says. Liz is about to duck out when their worst nightmare appears. Isabel. The Christmas Nazi. She says, "You two disgust me. Youre fired. Both of you. You two should both go home and have a long talk with yourselves," then, to Micheal, "And you begged me to be Santa."
Episode 3.10 : 01 January 2002 Writers - Melinda Metz & Laura Burns Director Allan Kroeker Altered Scenes Scene 10: In the Crashdown. An assisted living bus is parked out front, and a jolly group of eldery people are making their way into the Crashdown, with the help of Jeff Parker and Liz. They laugh like loons as they blow party buzzers and wear paper hats. Liz is handing out alien-themed paper and pencils, telling them to write down their resolutions, as later they'll be having a contest for the best ones. Scene 16: The senior citizens are going wild as Valenti and the Kit Shickers end their concert. Jeff Parker is laughing. Liz, holding a tray of dirty glasses, smiles as she watches the crowd whistle and whoop. Valenti tells the crowd to fill out their resolution sheets, as the winners will win two free passes to the Cow Patty Bar and Grill. Liz sets her tray of drinks down at the end of the counter where Gladys is sitting, having a great time. Gladys comments that the Kit Shickers are good, but Liz wants to be somewhere else. Liz lies, but Gladys sees through her. She asks if Liz has a boyfriend. "Sort of," says Liz. Gladys says that all boyfriends should be sort-of boyfriends. "Life is short and variety is it's only spice". Liz says that she'll keep this in mind. "What's your trouble? Dad doesn't approve? Town's a dead end? Love too complicated?" asks Gladys. Liz wonders if Gladys is psychic. Gladys just says that she's eighty. She makes a toast to the here and now and raises her glass. Liz smiles. Kyle is outside in a 7-11 talking to some cute girls in their early twenties. Kyle is boasting about how he figured out a clue. He then offers them some jerky. The girls look up to see their huge boyfriends approaching behind Kyle. One of the boyfriends says he's going to ask Kyle a question about the future. "Are those your teeth lying on the ground?" Kyle runs off. "See, we do control our own destiny," says one of the boyfriends to his pal. Isabel is leaning against the door of the Ferrari as Kyle runs up. She asks if he has the second clue, and he says yes. Kyle is jumping to go (because of the guys) but Isabel says he's okay, and reminds him that he's with her. She says it was a nice try; they were grooving on him for a little while. Kyle stares at Isabel, and she stares back. As he looks into Isabel's eyes, Kyle's expression changes. He's realizing something ... Kyle finally breaks the silence by asking Isabel if she's figured out the second clue. Isabel laughs so hard she snorts. She has no idea about what's "blooming" in Kyle's mind, and says that he's hopeless. Kyle laughs to cover. Isabel says that she'd better get him back to the party before the car turns back into a pumpkin. As Kyle gets into the driver's side, his mind is somewhere else. Scene 28: Inside a frat house, where there is a full-fledged New Years' party going on. Max stands in the corner, watching with amused detachment. A giant jock ambles up to Max. He tells them that they don't want no townies at the party. Max can't hardly hear him over the loud noise. He then uses his powers to make the bottom of the guy's beer bug disappear. The jock is splashed all over with beer. He's confused, holds up the beer mug, and stares straight through it at Max. "Where's my beer?" he asks. Max shrugs, and the guy wanders off. Michael is now talking to Max, telling him to go find a party to "have fun and embrace your future". Max quotes Liz. "'This is Roswell'". Michael says it's great. Max smiles and gets up, going over to the balcony exit. He says that he'll see what he can find, and asks if Michael will be okay. "To quote my late, alcoholic foster dad. 'Me and booze are through.'" says Michael. Max nods and leaves. Michael sighs. Upstairs in Liz's bedroom, Michael lays on her bed. He can hear the noise from the party up here -- as well as Maria's voice. "I can't stand him. I don't want to be with him. I don't want to be around him. He's smothering me. Even his friendship--" Now we're back downstairs, out with the girls. "His friendship is stifling. I can't be the old me. I can't be the new me. I can't be anything as long as he's around except Michael's constant source of irritation." Upstairs, Michael hears Maria's voice again. "I can't be anything as long as he's around." Michael shuts his eyes. Liz tells Maria that she should tell him how she feels. Maria says she will, as soon as he's better. Behind them, Michael comes down the stairs, putting on a brave face. He says that he's going home to bed. He exits. Liz and Maria look at each other. Maria throws up her ands exits into the Crashdown, leaving Liz alone. Scene 35: Outside of the 7-11, we see a message written in chalk on the ground: "Burgers, Fries, and Green Lime Pie. Success depends on Location, Location, Location." A Frisbee comes into view, landing on the clue. Max reaches for the Frisbee. A group of guys near the store want the Frisbee back, and call to Max. He tosses the Frisbee towards them. It arcs toward them, in slow motion. Then it stops, high over their heads, hanging in mid-air, just spinning. The guys stare. Max watches the Frisbee, subtly moving his fingers to keep the Frisbee aloft. "What the hell?" yells one of the Frisbee guys. Max lets the Frisbee fall and it stops at their feet. At the Crashdown, we see that it's fifteen minutes to midnight. Jeff addresses the crowd. He tells them to get their resolutions written so that they can read them in the New Year. All of the senior citizens start scribbling on their papers. Jeff walks over to Liz, who's watching Maria sitting alone at the counter, writing something on one of the alien-shaped "Resolution" pages. Jeff asks where Max is. Liz is surprised, and says that he's not here.
Episode 3.11 : 28 January 2002 no cut scenes avaliable This episode makes use of the 1960s TV series Bewitched to look at Isabel and Jesse's marriage
Episode 3.12: 5 February 2002 Shiri Appleby discusses her character (Liz) in an interview. SCI FI Wire: "Liz ... asks to go away, because her life is getting a little out of control in Roswell, so she needs a breather from all the alien chaos. ... What happens is that every time Max and Liz get close, ... her facial features disappear, her hands start glowing, all of these weird things in her body start reacting. So that's what triggers her wanting to leave Roswell and get away from Max. Because her life is being disturbed in a way that she's not used to."
Episode 3.13 : 12 February 2002 Directed by Rodney Charters Written by Russel Friend and Garrett Lerner. Max's powers are tested to their limits, and beyond. Meta-Chem, Michaels new employer, will mortally wound one of Michaels security-guard buddies in an effort to force Michael to use his healing powers. Trouble is, Meta-Chem doesnt realize that Michael has no healing powers; only Max does. Michaels pal Monk does not survive the episode. Max will heal a mortally-wounded Jim Valenti (which I guess means Roswells former sheriff will probably be getting superpowers too). The Meta-Chem folks catch Max healing Valenti. We learn Meta-Chem learned about the healer via reports of Liz taking a bullet in the diner (Meta-Chem has her ketchup-stained Crashdown uniform, among other things) and the remarkable recovery of a ward full of cancer kids a little over a year ago. Meta-Chem, it turns out, has been searching for the healer on behalf of a 92-year-old billionaire named Clayton. To save his friends lives, Max must use ALL of his alien powers on a sick and powerful aged industrialist. He rejuvenates the body of Clayton, but pays for his heroics with the slow diminishment of his life force. Meanwhile, desperate to stanch her physical deterioration, Liz flees Roswell in order to start a new life at a Vermont boarding school, Winnaman Academy. Liz is paired with a pothead roommate named Eileen Burrows. Eileen will give Liz her first taste of marijuana. Liz tells Eileen to call her Beth, and claims to be from Anaheim, Calif. She also claims to have not left a boyfriend behind. At first. While chatting in the Winnaman deans office, Liz begins to exhibit telekinetic superpowers! Maria will hit the road. Shell visit first-kiss Billy Darden in Manhattan, and follow up with a visit to Liz in Vermont. Alternate spoilers say Maria goes to New York City to record her demo. Guest starring Morgan Fairchild as Meris Wheeler.
Episode 3.14 : 26 February 2002 brief synop, full script avaliable if desired We learn that Max really isn't dead but that his spirit has been absorbed into Claytons body as a result of Max's healing in the previous episode. Clayton now looks like Max. Clayton is dueling to keep Maxs co-inhabiting spirit from taking over the body. Believing that ridding Lizs presence within his mind will help free him, Clayton (who looks like Max now) goes to Vermont to find and kill Liz. Maxs spirit must fight from within to keep the magnate from killing Liz, Claytons last option to finally destroy Max. Meanwhile, Liz and Maria learn of Maxs death and are in a state of mourning. When Clayton/Max shows, Liz eventually comes to believe she must kill this Max/Clayton person, and in her play to do so, she actually brings Max back to life, killing Clayton in the process. Meanwhile, Isabel is fatally wounded in the fight to save Max at the lab, and in Michael and Jesses efforts to save her, Jesse is told the truth about her alien identity.
3.15 April 23 Written by Gretchen Berg and Aaron Herberts Directed by Peter Ellis Previously: Liz seeing that Max is dead, ClayMax waking up as Max, Max begging Liz to kill him and then them falling out the window, Liz kissing him "awake", Isabel getting shot, Jesse being told the truth about Isabel, Jesse and Isabel talking at the end of CDB. Teaser: Jesse is talking to a psychiatrist (the same fellow who played the mayor in Buffy), and he asks if they trust him. Jesse tells him he is scared, that he only wanted a normal life. He says he loves Isabel, that she is good, but she has had trouble protecting "them", "their" secret. The psychiatrist reveals that the mob is what Jesse has told him is the big secret, and that they (he and Jesse) will try to fix Jesse as they tried to fix their marriage. We see the Jesse leave the psychiatrist's office, and Michael and Max poke their head around the corner. Michael wants to take care of it now, but Max insists he will after he has thought it out and walks off. Michael is upset, but the grimaces with pain/an itch. He opens his shirt and we see the V formation on his upper chest. Show starts : At the CD, Max asks Liz what she is doing (this is the scene from the promo where she looks messy), and she says she is working until 11. Her dad comes up, and Max awkwardly says hi. Jeff leaves, and Max asks how things are. She says he has been a saint, but that Winnamon wouldn't give her father back his money. Max asks if she is too busy, she asks for what? He wants to go out, but Liz tells him that things can't go back the way they were. He asks if they can at least hang out as friends? She smiles at him, and then tells him her orders are backing up, she'll have to call him. She leaves. Isabel is playing with her hair in the mirror, uses her powers to get a new hairstyle, then new fingernail polish, and then turns around to see Jesse watching her - and he looks upset. (When she turns around, she has tears in her eyes - but a smile on her face. I have no clue why.) She says he is home late, and he says he was at the gym. She turns everything back to the way it was. It is obvious things are cool between them. Later, he is laying on the bed and she comes over to kiss him goodnight - and a coccoon covers his face and then his body (from the promo), and he freaks out. He sits up - it was a dream. He gets up - its the middle of the night - and dresses, telling Isabel he is going to his office. She is upset when he leaves. On the way, his car breaks down. We hear him on the cell, asking where someone is - and he says he has been waiting 45 minutes. He rings off, and turns off to see Max there. Max offers to help him, but Jesse refuses. He says he doesn't want anything to do with that alien stuff, and Max tells him he needs help to deal with it. Jesse says he has help, but Max tells him therapy won't do it, because he tried it himself. Jesse accuses him of spying on him. Max tells him that all of them - the Valentis, Liz, etc - will all be in trouble if anyone finds out about this. The wrecker pulls up. We see Michael pull out the box of alien artifacts, and he picks up the destiny book. He sees the V punched into the front of the book, and And declares "I knew it! I'm in charge now!" Isabel comes out into the living room, having just waking up, and finds Jesse is dressed and ready to leave. She accuses him of trying to sneak out, and they argue. She says she is putting in all the work. He tells her he is trying to deal with this, and she tells him she wants him to love her, to be the man she married. He tells her he wants the woman he married, and that he will be at the Travel Inn. He leaves. Max is sitting in Michael's apartment, ready to eat a microwave dinner. He sees the box with the alien artifacts, and is puzzled. He opens it and sees that it contains the artifacts. Isabel comes to the door, and tells Max that he should stop spying on Jesse. Max tells her he is seeing a therapist. She tells him Jesse moved out, and then she sits on the couch and tells him she knew the marriage would break up when Jesse found out the truth. He tells her Jesse is trying to get help, that means he thinks it is something worth saving. She asks how Liz is taking everything, and Max says cautiosly - with reason. They smile at each other. Jesse is talking to the psychiatrist, and tells him he wants out. They psychiatrist tells him they will figure out a way to get that. He leaves, and the psychiatrist is attacked by Michael (who springs out of nowhere). Michael asks what kind of man listens to another man's problem, that he doesn't know what he is dealing with, and that he should drop Jesse Ramirez as a client. He takes Jesse's folder and leaves. The psychiatrist - who is very shaken - calls the FBI. Jesse and Isabel meet for lunch, and a waiter brings them a menu. Jesse tells her he has made a decision, and he tells her they should pack and leave Roswell. Mr. Evans comes up, wondering what they are doing having lunch clear across town. They make up an excuse about looking for furniture. As Mr. Evans goes to leave, he asks if they have heard that Liz dropped out of boarding school, that it must have been an expensive two weeks for Mr. Parker. Isabel tells him she didn't know. As he leaves, Jesse tells her he hates lying to her dad, because he respects them. He wants to be married to her, but not to this situation. He leaves, and Isabel sits a while longer. Max comes into the apartment, and Michael is sitting reading the papers he got from the psychiatrist. When Max mentions not leaving his bike in front of one of the neighbor's doors - one who gets mad about it. Michael tells him "Yes Sir" pretty snidely. Max tells him they should let Isabel take care of the problem with Jesse. He tells Max he got the stuff from the psychiatrist (and "dealt" with the therapist at the same time too), and when Max asks who told him he could do what he did, Michael says nothing. Max looks at the box, and asks Michael how he got it - his name was the only one on the safety deposit box. He tells Michael he must take it back, and Michael shoves his fist into the wall (evidently trying to hit Max). He tells Max that Max freaks him out, is he a ghost or what? Max offers to heal his hand, and Michael tells him to leave him alone. As soon as Max leaves, he heals his own hand, smiling as he does so. Kyle is talking to Jesse, fixing his car for him. Kyle asks how things are going with Isabel, and Jesse says fine. Kyle offers a listening ear, and Jesse says that is a common sentiment around Roswell. Kyle tells him that it took him months to get used to it. Jesse tells him that as an officer of the court, he realizes that this conspiracy will bring them down. And that the aliens took over Kyle's life - robbed him of it. Kyle tells him that Max gave him his life, he is not "cheerleading" for them. Kyle knocks his hand, and leaves to bandage it, and while he is gone, men come up asking for Jesse Ramirez, and hustle him into a dark van and drive away. Kyle calls after him. In a dark warehouse, Agent Burns talks to Jesse. He tells him about the psychiatrist, who had been threatened by the "member of the mob". When Jesse tells him that there is no mob, Burns agrees. He asks him how much he knows about Max? Jesse tells him that Max is a troubled kid, not a threat to national security. Burns tells him that Max is an alien pretending to be a teenaged kid, not of this world. He hands Jesse a folder, with a picture of Sheila Hubble and others who were killed by aliens (including a pic of Pearce). He tells him that he was in the Special Unit, that they know how dangerous Max is. That there are more like Max, who have lived here for 50 years, and that they believe in survival of the fittest. That humans are an inferior life form in the aliens' eyes. That nothing good can come from it. Jesse asks him how can he help? Liz and Max are playing miniature golf. He tells her about Michael putting his fist through the wall, and refusing to let Max heal him. That he can't stand to be around Max. She tells him that she used to play miniature golf all the time, and he suggests he get to use his powers to play - she could use her too. She says no, they agreed. He asks if she has had any powers since she returned, and she says no. He mentions that his father is really curious about why she returned, sure it has something to do with Max. She says to tell him the same thing to tell her dad - that her drug-addicted roommate wanted to get into a threeway with her Latin teacher. Liz asks Max how it felt being dead. He asks if she is afraid of him, and she says no. He says he doesn't want to talk about it - it makes it closer. But that it changed him, he is not interested in dragging around responsibilities all the time, he needs to live in the now, to stop the impossible quests like looking for his son. He says that he isn't interested in fighting with Michael, and he wants to appreciate all the things around him, like school and that he wants them (M/L) to try again. She smiles slightly, just as the phone rings. It is Isabel. The entire gang is meeting, while Kyle tells them about the FBI taking Jesse. Michael wants to go find him, assuming that Jesse has turned on them. Max tells them his plans and starts giving orders. Michael tells him he has his own plan, and Michael tells him to get out of his way. Isabel tells him to stop it, that her husband's life is at risk and to get out of the way. Michael leaves, and Maria follows him. Michael is driving crazily, Maria with him. Michael tells her that he is the leader now; that Max should have stayed dead. It should always have been this way. That Max isn't good at being king, look how he got Alex killed and Tess betrayed them. Max doesn't want to be king, but Michael does. He says he would stop this Jesse thing right now. When she tells him Jesse won't tell anyone, but Michael tells her Nasedo had it right. As soon as a human finds out, they should be eliminated. She says by that philosophy, she should have been killed. He tells her (nastily) that she said it, he didn't. She never listened to him even when they were together, and all she did was make him weak. He tells her he stayed on the planet for her, and she dumped him. She says this is NOT him, and tries to say she loves him. She sees the V on Michael's chest, and he pulls over and tells her to get out because she never shuts up. When she tries to talk, he tells her to get out, and then roars off as soon as she does. Mr. Evans comes to talk to Jeff Parker. He wants to know why Liz left school so suddenly. Jeff says it is family business, but Phillip wants to know. He tells Phillip that the drugs and drinking made Liz uncomfortable, so she left. Phillip says he will check into getting his money back from the academy (there should be a clause that they have to if that is why Liz left). Jeff tells Phillip to stop wasting time not trusting his son - that life is too short. Phillip listens politely. Max and Liz find Maria on the side of the road. She tells him that Michael says he is the king now, that he wants to be, and is nuts. She tells about seeing the sign on his chest. Max draws the 5 dots in the dust, asking Maria if it looked like that. She says yes Okay - since when would Maria NOT recognize the V symbol??. Max says that is the Royal Seal of Antar and he has it inside him to prove he is the true king. Liz suggests that those who sent him must have had a backup plan, and that Michael inherited the seal when Max died. She suggests maybe he inherited other things- like the ability to heal because when she saw him, his hand looked okay to her. They wonder how they will get the seal back, and Liz suggests they might have to go through what Max did (i.e. Michael die) and Maria says no! Max asks where Michael would go? Max tells them that Michael is at his worst. Impulsive, dangerous. He has to figure out a way to get the seal back. Michael comes into the Ramirez apartment. Jesse is there. Michael accuses him of selling them out. He uses his power to throw Jesse up against the wall. He tells Jesse that he told Isabel not to get with him, but Max said yes. That Isabel is his - that they were together before Jesse was born and will be together afterwards. He finds a bug in Jesse's briefcase, and decides Jesse must die. The others come bursting in, and Max tells him to let Jesse go. Michael refuses, but Max breaks his hold on Jesse. He tells the rest to leave, and they do. Isabel agrees to leave with Jesse NOW - and he says fine, get your things. As soon as she leaves, he calls Burns and says they are coming in. Michael and Max start fighting when Michael tells him that he doesn't give orders to him. Max died, and now it is his turn to get in line. Max tells him no. They trash the Ramirez apartment while Michael tries to force Max to say he will follow Michael. When Max refuses, Michael tries to kill him using his powers. Max uses his power to break a window, the shards going into Michael's eyes, causing him to fall back. Max jumps on him, telling him he will kill him if that is what Michael wants, but he just got back from there, and he shoudln't want to go. As he is doing this, he pulls back Michael's shirt and sees the V formation. He places his hand on it - and starts glowing red. The seal passes back to Max. Michael screams as this is going on. Max turns his hand over, and the seal is there. In the warehouse, Jesse tells Isabel she has two minutes to destroy everything. Jesse tells Burns he told him NOT to put that microphone on him, and he will report him, but Burns says he didn't know if he could trust Jesse to keep his word. He tells Burns to give him the tape, and Burns said they always thought Michael Guerin was an alien but they couldn't prove it. And with the proof they have, they will be after them tomorrow - starting with his wife. He thanks Jesse for his help, and appears to be about to shoot Jesse. Isabel hears something and comes rushing in to find Jesse standing over Burns' dead body. Max asks Michael how his eyes are, and Michael says fine, thanks for healing them. Max tells him they both said things they didn't really mean. Michael tells him to stop being all touchy-feely. Michael says Max is the king, he did what he had to do. Max says he doesn't consider himself Michael's boss. He glares at Max as Max leaves. A car pulls up to a big wrecking yard. Jesse and Isabel leave Burns' body in the trunk, and leave. Jesse remarks that if the find the car, they will identify Burns. Isabel uses her powers to do something (we don't see what exactly but Jesse looks upset), and says "Not now". She says they won't find him now, and then uses her powers to have the crane pick the car up and put it into a crusher. (This is the scene from the promo that looks like a "Heil" salute. They watch the car be crushed, then go home to find their trashed apartment. She tells him if they drive all night, they could get to Dallas. He says he killed a man. She asked when he started carrying a gun - and he says since college. She uses her powers to melt the gun. He tells her there is no where to go - it will always be with them. He is a part of this for good now. He walks off, defeated, and she says she loves him. She starts cleaning the house, and he watches TV. He looks like he is crying.
3.16 Isabel is caught on videotape using her superpowers in this episode. That tape will soon fall into the hands of the Air Force. Air Force personnel have taken a downed alien spacecraft to an airplane hanger. It contains Maxs infant son. It also contains someone who moves and kills at superhuman speed. Tess, the mother of Maxs space-child, is back for the first time this season. After examining surveillance footage depicting Tess leaving the hanger, the Air Force decides (rather understandably) that Tess is responsible for the deaths of all nine witnesses to the carnage. The military police are looking for Tess, and carry surveillance photos of the bad blonde alien. They cover their search by pretending to look for terrorists. At one point, Liz considers revealing Tesss hiding place to the authorities. Max, Michael, Tess and space-child will endeavor to breach a military roadblock. Tess uses her familiar Jedi mindwarp to confuse the weak-minded military police. She is less than wholly successful when space-baby begins to squawl. At the Crashdown: MAX: We'll meet at Michael's Hurry up. Liz: Be careful. If there is a ship there......... Please don't get on it. Max: Not a chance in HELL! Then they kiss--big surprise! M/M Maria watches as Michael steps up. MICHAEL: Sorry for suggesting you'd be better off dead. Maria eyes him. Kisses him. Leaves him stunned. MARIA: Go. Do a good thing. MICHAEL: Yes. I think I will. Amy Deluca and Maria Scene but I dont see this making it in the episode Amy just on the phone with overseas complaining about them passing the buck. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Act 3 SCENE 27 Crashdown at Night: MARIA- Ready to order? RICKMAN- Major? MAJOR CARLSON- I'm fine with this. RICKMAN- Alright then. Here's what I'm looking for but I don't see it on the menu. Penne pasta with chicken, sun-dried tomatoes, in marinara sauce. Anything close to that? MARIA- (he's got to be kidding) We have spaghetti. RICKMAN- I see that. But that's not what I want. MARIA- You want the Olive Garden. SCENE 31 TWO ALIENS. Max and Michael wearing rubber alien masks. Frighteningly real in this dim light. Standing shoulder to shoulder in jeans and sweatshirts. One hand behind their backs, the other raised in an open palm gesture of --- MAX & MICHAEL: (high-pitched helium voices) Greetings! Rickman's eyes widen, his finger tightens on the trigger, and MAX GESTURES, HURLING RICKMAN ACROSS THE ROOM AND INTO THE WALL! As Rickman lands on the bed, the gun flying, Max and Michael each take a hit off a helium balloon, adjust their masks and rush to Rickman. MICHAEL: (high-pitched) Where is Colonel Griffin? RICKMAN: Wha---? MAX:(high-pitched) Wrong answer. Max gestures again and Rickman is suspended over the bed, floating in mid-air, facing the ceiling. MICHAEL:(high-pitched) Where is Colonel Griffin? RICKMAN: (panicked) Oh my God! Max gestures again and Rickman begins spinning like a horizontal human top. Really fast. Rickman SCREAMS. As he spins and screams, Max takes another hit off the helium balloon. MAX: We're going to ask you one more time. If you don't tell us what we want to know--- (another hit) ----we're going to carve you up like a mutilated cow. MICHAEL: And we've had lots of practice. The guys are laughing under the masks, truly enjoying this. RICKMAN: OH MY GOD!! Max gestures and SLAMS Rickman face down onto the cheap bed. The frame breaks and the bed hits the floor. Rickman lies frozen, pressed down into the mattress. Michael takes a quick hit off his balloon. MICHAEL: (high-pitched) Where is Colonel -- RICKMAN: Rodgers Air Force Base. He's being transferred tomorrow morning. A van's picking him up at seven, taking him to... to... MICHAEL: (high-pitched) To where? Where? (off Rickman's hesitation; to Max) Prepare the probe. RICKMAN: PLEASE GOD, NO! They're going to kill him. Max takes a helium hit. MAX: (high-pitched) Why kill Colonel Griffin? RICKMAN: He collided with your ship! He saw everything. MAX: (high-pitched) Our ship? RICKMAN: It was an accident. We need to keep these things a secret. We have to. Your cargo is safe. Max looks at Michael. Courtesy of Gwen and Cher. Act 3 SCENE 28 Maria backdoor of cafe Collides with Michael she gets huffy Michael: we need to talk Maria: you need to be slapped Michael: later Act 2 SCENE 17 Jesse and Phillip on business trip with clients. Client makes comment about how sweet the set up--Jesse married the bosss daughter. Someone else at in the group, "Don't mess with him. He's a killah?" Jesse reacts and wipes sweat off his upper lip. Still at the bar, Phillip takes a phone call from Diane. Diane: I'm positive Phillip. I don't know how she did it unless she walked through the wall and that's impossible. Phillip : Yeah it is. What about Max? Diane: Isabel says he's spending ALL his time with Liz. Phillip: Is that true? Isabel (coming out of the restaurant): I'll take care of him. Diane (frightened) : Who? Your father? Isabel: huh? The Valet, Mom. I'll get the tip. Isabel steps out of the frame leaving Diane SPOOKED.
Episode 3.17 Tess returns with HUMAN infant. On the baby's humaness Liz says it's genetics because the parents are half human so two halves make a whole. By Act 3, Max and Izs parents will have learned their kids are aliens. An officer pulls on his hood and passes two armed mp's. He pushed through the plastic and gives the first unimpeded view of the crashed UFO. Twisted, scorched metal supported by scaffolding and surrounded by a bank of lights. It's a surreal scene as six scientists in bio-hazard suits swarm the vehicle like flies on a carcass. AIR FORCE OFFICER: Any signs of a door? Or a cockpit? The scientist shakes his head. A buzzsaw digs into the metal. AIR FORCE OFFICER: Hey, careful with that! We still want to reverse engineer this thing -- Another scientist calls out... SCIENTIST: Think we've got something -- All the scientists leave their areas and congregate around the cockpit portion of the crashed UFO. They hammer, hammer, hammer at the tiny opening, trying to crack it open. Suddenly, the UFO HUMS to life. The surprised scientists back away slowly. A CRUNCHING sound and a pneumatic HISS as a pressurized seal breaks, and a hatch slowly slides open. A bright light emits from the UFO's opening, washing over the scientist's face. The anticipation grows. The group leans in closer to see .. AIR FORCE OFFICER: Oh my god. The ship's only occupant...a tiny human infant. Frail. Cooing. Swaddled in a fine white silk. The Air Force officer reaches inside the craft for the baby. But just before he touches it, A LOUD BANG rings out. Heads whip around in time to see another portion of the ship clank to the floor. OFFICER: What the hell was that? Suddenly something erupts towards the men with a horrible SHRIEK and we slam cut to: OUTSIDE THE PLASTIC SHEETS As a sickening spray of blood EXPLODED onto the plastic. The scientists scramble, screaming in panic as they attempt to scatter. But a monstrous shape WHIPS through the plastic enclosure at blinding speeding, mowing them down. The armed MP'S rush in, guns blazing... BACK INSIDE. CAMERA HOLDS ON THE BABY Kicking his legs, oblivious to the chaos. Blood curdling screams come in bunches. An otherwordly SCREECH accompanies the brutal attack. Gun shots ring out. Lights EXPLODE and SPARK, casting an eerie glow. Finally, it's over. And all is quiet. The baby kicks, looks around. Then suddenly something FLASHES past frame. Moving too fast to see. And the baby is gone. An overhead shot reveals the extent of the carnage. Bodies and blood everywhere. Nothing moves. And in the middle of the maelstrom sits the cracked open UFO. Conspicuously devoid of its passengers. NEW SCENE MICHAEL Just Snapple. TESS Great. KYLE Cant you breast feed? 28 EXT. IN THE CAR Max and Michael sit in front. Tess and the baby are in back. MAX: Here they come. MICHAEL: You ready? TESS: I think so. Tess closes her eyes, concentrating. Just then, two MPs approach, German shepherds in tow. M.P.: Have you seen this woman. The M.P. holds up the surveillance photo of Tess. REVERSE TO HIS POV: We see Max and Michael... But the back seat is EMPTY! No sign of Tess, or the baby. MAX: No, I havent seen her. Suddenly, the German shepherds start BARKING! The MPs suspicions are raised. Michael has a fear that he will be dust soon. When she tells Michael, he cries fakery. He joins her for the next visit to show her that it's all smoke and mirrors. Tess reappearance will apparently do little to inhibit the romanace shared by Max and Liz, who spend at least part of this episode tonguing each other unreservedly. Liz and Max are alone in Michael's apartment. Getting down and dirty on Michael's disease infested sofa. Harvard Schmarvard! Liz is accepted to a college in Chicago (Northwestern?) next autumn. Max seems cool with the idea, suggesting he might follow her there and states, "college girls are hot." LIZ: Chicago is a long way from here. MAX: I followed you to Vermont, what makes you think I won't go to Illinois. LIZ: You came to Vermont to kill me. MAX: Am I a romantic or what...... Tess dies sacrificing herself to save the group after lying to Max yet again that if he kills her the baby will die. NEW SCENE!!!!!!!! Liz: Max, I would do anything if it meant doing it with you. Max looks at her, moved. He looks at her intensely, a thought occuring. He steps over to the Hibachi grill and picks up a charcoal briquet. He puts it in the palm of his hand. Liz (cont.): What are you doing? Max: A trick I learned from Superman. Let's see if it really works. He closes his hand tight anfd concentrates hard. Really hard. His hand begins to glow, smoke emanates, sweat drips from his face. . . Finally, he opens his hand. The charcoal has turned into something much smaller, it is balck and covered in soot. He takes a cloth and starts to rub it down. . . As he does it becomes clear what it is: Liz: It's a diamond. Is this part of the plan: Diamond moguls by day, superheroes by night? Max keeps looking at her. He kneels before her. Liz starts to realize . . . Liz: Oh my God. Max. He looks at her. He hands her the diamond. . . Max: Liz. Tomorrow we'll be married. They are laying together now. Liz: Judging from the way things happen around here, I think we'd better just seize themoment while we can. They fold into each other, kiss, it's tender, it's sexy, it's everything anyone could haveimagined. Move in on Liz, cue music: FLASH FLASH, we see Liz have a series of romantic flashes spanning Max and Liz's relationship. Max: Flashes? Liz: Good Ones. We'd like to congratulate the graduating class of 2002 from Roswell High and offer some words of wisdom before we say goodbye, so please welcome our special guest speaker. GUEST SPEAKER: Thank you. I deal with science fiction and write about aliens, which we all know is fiction. However there are many similarities between aliens and humans, especially in high school (stupid joke, some laughter). Both need to believe in the impossible... Max then walks on stage, tells the author to buzz off, shows him some magic and the dude takes off. Max then gives impromptu speech because FBI snippers are in the balcony targeting Liz and Isabel. Max stalls with speech. Makes lights go out and blinds everyone so Liz grabs Maria and Kyle to the exit door. Liz says to Kyle you dont have to come along Kyle says he knows his powers will develop he wants to be with them. Isabel, sitting with Jesse and her parents, says to Jesse maybe in another lifetime but he can still have a normal life. Jesse doesnt want her to go without him. Isabel takes off her wedding ring and leaves Jesse and parents going to the exit. MAX: Hi, I'm max Evans and I'd like to take this opportunity to say something on behalf of myself and the graduates (at this point he takes his right hand to the right side of the podium, shakes it and the lights dim with a spotlight on him.) It's a little dramatic, I know. But this is graduation. There are some of us here today that are here to walk across this stage and pick up are well deserved diplomas we've worked so hard for, in fact, most of us are, but there are some of us here for a different reason, to say good-bye. See, I'm part of this member of these outsiders, a group of aliens... and we've always been there for each other but tonight, we're going to go four separate ways. I know most of you don't understand, and that's okay. Those that need to understand, do. (at this point Liz, Kyle and Maria split) I know what I need to do and some of you may not like it, some of you are probably terrified, but that's not my problem, I need to be me. But I want to thank you, Roswell. Thank you for being there for me, Thank you for giving me a family. Thank you for giving me a home. At this point the FBI storms the auditorium and "Micheal" (stunt guy) rides in down the aisle up the stairs and onto the stage and uses powers to blow back the gunmen snippers.
