WAR AGAINST IRAQ

2002-08-13

President of the most powerful country in the world George Bush

has indicated that it’s time to go militarily against the regime of

Saddam Hussein at Iraq.  The Australian Government very quickly

confirmed that Australian soldiers would back up the US invasion

on Iraq to demolish and crash the terror of Iraq’s Government

against their own people and the entire region.

Surprisingly John Howard’s Government are very happy to start

another war. What is so funny about the war? Why did the

government jump so quickly to conclusion for sending our troops

abroad to killing human beings? War is a very unfair, immoral,

dishonest, dirty and pointless military campaign against supposed

and assumed treats from other nations, governments or groups.

Where exactly this is taking us? Certainly that won’t take us to

the future of peace and harmony. Of course the Government

always find very good explanation and excuse for sending our

troops for killing innocent people. We remember that song:

“International interest”. They have been doing that before.

We don’t need very highly educated politicians to make such

a decision. Politicians know very well that this war won’t solve

the problem in long term. They want to change one anti democratic

government to another, which won’t be democratic whatsoever

but certainly will be pro Americans. We have very good example

of failure of national community in Afghanistan, where we

haven’t established proper guidelines for future democratic

constitution and life in that country. We have to acknowledge

and recognize that all Muslim countries have a long way to

democracy like developed countries used to because of their culture,

religion and tradition. That’s why everybody, particularly Australian

government have to be very careful before making a decision about

our involvement with any war or military action. The Government

has a right make such a move, but the Australian Prime Minister

should consider what we ordinary citizens think and he should get

approval from us. All politicians have to understand that in the end

we will be paying the bill, not Mr Howard, not the politicians.

Secondly, who will be suffering? Not only Iraqi people but we too.

It doesn’t matter why our Government or we hate Saddam Hussein

or how much he deserve to be killed for his atrocities; we have no

right killing innocent people, because we want to get rid off the worst

dictator since war world two. Therefore, the government have to

take under consideration what kind of outcome and consequences

that will make on the entire region, the world and us. Inclination

of such action as war against any country these days are deeply

complicated than we think. That need firstly approve from United

Nation as a global fight with terror with the strongest support from

the region. Otherwise, that situation can escalate and intensify in

different direction than we assume. It’s very sad that after September 11, politicians change their course of democracy and humanity to autocracy

and intimidation with hatred attitude. It’s time to change that and look

to resolve all problems and find the solution in the future with positive

and human approach, because war and violent will never solve and

stop fully terror, discrimination or violent behaviour. Military action

always should be the last result in a democratic and human society,

which we belong. Because we are different than animals and as a

human being we can rationalize our action. Don’t forget that.
