TAX & ELECTION2001-10-22 We can see that all groups and
candidates for parliament start putting their cards with promises on the
table. But there’s nothing particularly for improving our economy. Liberal
has lost its imaginations about how to resolve taxation system in
Australia. Labor on the other hand has not the solution at all. Why
politicians can’t sit down and work together on the best or more effective tax? We have so
many taxes and GST didn’t resolve taxation system whatsoever. GST didn’t
put in place better alternative or arrangements for less complicated tax.
Formula of GST is simple but coalition government made that system so complex
and I don’t know why? Why doesn’t the government make anything
simpler and clear? Why any law implemented by parliament every day is more
complicated, more difficult to understand, less acceptable by citizens and
confused? Why politicians are out of touch with their communities? I don’t
know or perhaps I should say because they live on the moon. They possibly are
too much alienated from real life that they have forgotten why people
electing them to parliament. It’s time for politicians come back to
reality of ordinary people and do something for them. Taxation system in
Australia stinks and responsibility of government (and all politicians) is doing
everything what is in their power or knowledge to find the best tax system.
Labor has to understand that rall back GST won’t solve the problem and
coalition that existing tax system is not answer for our problems too. We
have to get to the bottom of taxation system and discover system, which will be
acceptable by all parties of our social and business life. We are living in a taxation
environment and we realize that we need monies for hospitals, school, police,
military and so on. Why, ordinary citizen knows very well that everyone has to
pay tax. Doesn’t matter whether is that for economical, social or political
reason. But everybody would like to pay fair tax with understandable rules.
I hope that one-day politicians do that because our future depends on
good law and taxation. We expect from all members of future parliament that
they will be respecting our view and they start doing in a parliament
something positive for all of us, not only for themselves. Back to home
