CHOGM

2001-09-30

The Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting is postponed.

Good haven at last. I’m so happy about it.

Not that I was afraid about safety the heads of governments who could

attend to this meeting. I was more concerned about the innocent people who

never get enough security from police like politicians. Politicians think

that they deserve everything because their life is more important than others.

They are very wrong. They should never get more security than ordinary

citizen. I don’t think that such a meeting like CHOGM is necessary.

I have always had doubts about it. What kind of good things could bring

this meeting for people. We know very well that politicians like talking

but from talking, ordinary people won’t be having better life or more rights.

Who exactly could make benefit in that summit? The Australian Government

as host has to provide facilities, security, transport, hospitality and accommodation

for delegates. Who ‘s paying for that? Australian taxpayers are paying millions of

dollars. Government likes wasting our money. Why government don’t like asking

citizens for permission regardless any big event which they want to organize.

They should take in consideration that we (citizens) can have different view

how government should spend taxpayer’s money. That’s funny, when people

asks for money they can’t get anything from government. But when

government organize something they have always money. Politicians have to learn,

to respect our rights and they have to look closely what concerns us. Of course not only

when is election time. Sooner or latter they pay for their dishonesty. CHOGM is

gone for now and I hope that never come back to Brisbane again (my dream).

Queensland Premier Peter Beattie maybe should pay from his own pocket for

such an event. After that he will be understand more what we are talking about.

We don’t like to see him wasting our money. Politicians have to spend our monies

more wisely and put more monies in the areas where we need it most. I don’t

think that CHOGM is that area.
