Performing Lit II
Instructor:   Edina McMasters
Grade Level: 10th - 12th

Description: Students will participate in activities listed in Performing Literature I while studying literature, in addition to engaging in a more in-depth study of theatre skills and history. In the fall, Performing Lit II will produce a Shakespeare "Festival" and each student will direct scenes with groups of students from other classes.

Text: For Performing Lit II we will use the following: individual plays and novels, which students will be responsible to acquire; short stories and poetry, for which copies will be provided; and videos, which students will rent or borrow from the library. For theatre skills we will be using a portfolio instead of a single textbook and material will be provided from several sources, (for example: Gillette's Theatrical Design and Production, Prentice Hall's Modern Theatre Practice, Turner's Voice and Speech in the Theatre, etc.)
Tuition: $10.00 per class
Copy Fee: $15.00 per year
