Description: Upon completing this course the student will have earned a half credit in economics and one credit in personal finance (an elective).
This course encompasses lessons in savings and investing, living a debt free life, the insurance process, the effects of marketing and advertising as they relate to consumer debt and buying habits, the pros and cons of home ownership, the importance of finding the work that you love, and understanding your credit report.

* Explain how investing builds wealth and helps meet financial goals
* Evaluate investment alternatives
* Describe how to buy and sell investments
* Explain how taxes affect the rate of return on investments
* Investigate how agencies that regulate financial markets protect investors
