Interfaith Dinner

28 march 2003

Scientologists celebrated the Founder’s Birthday (Mr. L. Ron Hubbard) 28th of March 2003 with a huge event and prior, an Interfaith Dinner.

The event had many opinion leaders and guests of various faiths in attendance. They first came to a dinner in cosy and quaint restaurant in Circular Quay. The guests were Henry Dang, Buddhist Federation Australia; Greg Stone and Aila Willitts, International & Interreligious Federation for World Peace; Jessie Singh, Sikh and President of Multifaith Association South Australia; Mathew & Raquel Charet, Sydney University Dept of Religion and Rabbi Hathem Saed of the Mandean Gnostics (originally from Iran), and Virginia Stewart, Cyrus Brooks and Vicki Hanna representing Scientology.

Per the reports back it was really fun and friendships were struck and objectives made.

Cyrus, Aila and Henry spoke about making a real active "doing" sort of interfaith group. In addition to the above, many other opinion leaders came to the Birthday event: Dr. Qazi Ahmad (Muslim of Indian heritage, who had previously got the Dianetics video in Urdu and Cyrus gave him Scientology, Theology and Practice of a Contemporary Religion and Hubbard’s the Fundamentals of Thought); Adam Possamai (professor at University of Western Sydney) and his wife; Katrine Vondinklage (Women’s Federation for World Peace) and several others of the Philippine community that recently bestowed an award on Mr. Hubbard march 13th. Aila commented that she never deeply knew Mr. Hubbard but understood him so much more now. Dr. Qazi thoroughly enjoyed the event and the enthusiasm of it. Later Cyrus met members of The Most Noble Order of Rizal and also presented the representative for New South Wales (state of Australia which Sydney is part, for those of you not in Australia) Scientology, Theology and Practice of a Contemporary Religion and Fundamentals of Thought. Mr Teddy Aritao suggested that it be part of the library for members of the Order.
