Vampire: The Masquerade

In my craft or sullen art
Exercised in the still night
When only the moon rages
And the lovers lie abed
With all their griefs in their arms,

I labor by singing light
Not for ambition or bread
Or the strut and trade of charms
On the ivory stages
But for the common wages
Of their most secret heart.

-- Dylan Thomas, "In my Craft or Sullen Art"

1920s - Sins of the Father
Caliban Morten - A well known and respected gentleman of Providence, Morten made his fortune in the shipping industry. He owns a great number of the ships that come and go from Providence's bay. He is also the head of the gentleman's club known as "The Beacon". Though he is slowly getting older, he is still quite athletic and strong of arm.

Lo! Death has reared himself a throne In a strange city lying alone Far down within the dim West, Where the good and the bad and the worst and the best Have gone to their eternal rest. There shrines and palaces and towers (Time-eaten towers that tremble not!) Resemble nothing that is ours. Around, by lifting winds forgot, Resignedly beneath the sky The melancholy waters lie.

-- Edgar Allen Poe, "The City Beneath the Sea"

2000 - Shattered Reflections
Tybalt - The Tremere Regent and Seneschal of Carabas' Court in New Haven. With the Prince missing, Tybalt is essentially in control of the city's nightly affairs until such time as Prince Carabas returns.
Detective Lawson - The Ventrue Primogen and Sheriff of New Haven. Cold, passionless, dedicated to both Law and Tradition.
Aunt Helga - A Primogen and possible Harpy in New Haven. Aunt Helga apparently resides in the main branch of the city's library. Though it is said that she is helpful, she seems rather disdainful of Ms. Ivonova.
Janis - A Primogen and techno-phile, Janis is known to be a patron of various artists and political activitists. He is seemingly always surrounded by sycophants and yes-men, including a personal secretary known as Mr. Jones who does all of Janis' 'face-to-face' talking for him.
Lucian Brightson - A Primogen in New Haven, Brightson is heavily involved in a variety of activities from the dock workers guilds to the trash haulers union. Rumors put him behind any number of business and political scams and scandals, but very little of it actually seems to directly contact Mr. Brightson. Supposedly has a haven near the South River dock areas.

Paul Connalson - mortal, descendent of Narrangasett Indian tribe, leader of a group of mortal teenaged 'demon-worshipers and pagans.'
Malachi - unknown Kindred, possibly Ghoul. Dealing with young mortal 'demon-worshipers and pagans.' Known to drink absinthe. Moves very slowly, almost ritualistically. Notable: Stamina, Intelligence.
Det. Mike O'Connor - local police detective down on his luck. Hasn't solved a case in years, but not for lack of trying. (The PCs think he might be a supernatural.) Notable: Perception.
Jonas - a Tremere historian. Studies Kindred Lore.
Mr. Jones - Janis' stooge. Keeps records of Janis' appointments, deals with those who come to see Janis.
"Keys" - Strange Kindred with an apparent obsession of keys. Possibly Malkavian?

Craig/Crag - biker and Kindred Anarch. Tattoos instead of hair.
Stoney - biker and Kindred Anarch. Big, tough, rough.
Dr. Steven Horn - the city's ME and Coroner. Apparently has some knowledge of Kindred Lore, but appears to be a mortal. Possibly a Ghoul, but under who's control?

Urban - a Sabbat Bishop of Hartford. Known to have some connection to New Haven. Pack members: Benedict (Priest, Kindred Lore), Francis (Templar, Obtenebration), Pious and Juan
a Nomadic Sabbat pack known as Hell's Belles - Frequents the areas from New Haven to Hartford. All female pack, thought to be Lillins or Bahari.
Xavier DeBubioux - a Ventrue Elder en route to the city. Known to have close ties with the Nosferatu clan, a notable achievement for one of the Blue Bloods. However, there are some other darker rumors that he might be coming in to usurp Carabas' place and assume command over the current Nosferatu Brood. Loralai Frost - a Toreador Elder en route to the city. Both an artiste and an accomplished swordswoman, Ms. Frost has a reputation that precedes her from New York.
