In Loving Memory . . .
Gone, but never forgotten. . .
This page is dedicated to those I have loved and lost.  As much as it hurts to lose a loved one I feel blessed to have the capacity in my heart to love.  I pray I will not have to update this page too often.
Oakwood's Maxima
9/28/97 - 5/4/03
Maxima (left) and her daughter, Monet.  They were always by each other's side.  This picture was taken about 1 month before we lost Maxima.
Maxima  was my favorite doe and we shared a bond as she did with my daughter and  everyone who came in contact with her.    She will never know the impact she had on us, nor will she ever be  able to be replaced.  Her sweet disposition will always be missed in our pen and will leave an empty space in our hearts and our lives.
One day I'll see you again my little Maxima when we meet across the Rainbow Bridge, 'til then you are forever in our hearts.
Mr. Rihn, Oakwood Pygmies, bred Maxima and was one of the most knowledgable goat breeders I know.  I always asked for his advice as I trusted his opinion & eye for a good goat.  He not only had show goats but really cared for his goats.  In June 2003 Mr. Rihn lost his fight with cancer.  I can only believe that he and Maxima have met across the Rainbow Bridge.  He will be greatly missed.
Thank you both for being a part of our lives. . .
Desert Wind Raindrop
2/23/98 - 2/27/05
Raindrop was a great doe with an awesome front end.   I made the decision to sell her about 2 weeks before she was due to kid.  This last kidding proved disastrous as she appeared to have ruptured.   Raindrop was a part of my life for 2 1/2 years, there is an empty place in my goat pen, as well as my heart.

Her kids can be seen on the Angel Valley Farms New Arrivals page.
Rainbow Bridge
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an  animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes  to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all our special friends so  they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and  sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals  who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor, those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them,  who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from  the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and  faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special  friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to  be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again  caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your  heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together, never again to be separated.
