History of St. Catherine
Church Construction:
   Cogon (grass) and bamboo church was built by the Franciscan priest in Binhaan in the year 1685. The first minister was Fr. Cristobal Mortanchez in 1688, then it was transferred to the present site, the poblacion of Pagbilao (St. Catherine of Alexandria Parish) in 1730 by Fr. Francisco de Toledo.

   The church made of stone was built under the supervision of Fr. Victorino Paralija in 1845. Church bell tower and convent was finished in 1877 under the supervision of Fr. Eugenio Gomez. It was bombed during the liberation in the Philippines in 1945.

   In 1954, Fr. Vicente Urlanda initiated the reconstruction along with three prominent parishioners - Cornelio Glorioso, Maestrong Torio a head carpenter (Torio Parre�o) and Architect Marcillano Goyma.

   After fifty years, Msgr. Tony Obe�a restore the the old roof, then Msgr. Dennis Imperial initiate the renovation of the church interior. Renovation begun in 2003 under the supervision of Mr. Bonifacio Orgas and the commissioned interior designer was Mr. Pablito M. Glodoviza.
