| Saturday December 13th Prime Time Players 12:30pm--- Holy Cross 19 St. A's 33 This one was controlled by St. A's from the start, with their legendary pressure on the ball. The glass was about even but when you force turnovers and get layups out of them your in better shape to win the game. For St. A's- Pretty much a balanced scoring attack here with Larry Battle (8 pts., 9 boards, 2 stls.) and Joe Robinson (8 pts., 6 boards) & Brandon 'B' Savage gettin' his from the stripe (8 pts., 2 rebs., 2 stls....6-8 from the line) leading the way. My man 'C. Dub' back from his two game M.I.A. chipped in with 7 pts., 5 big steals, 3 dimes & 3 rebounds. For Holy Cross- 'C.C.' lead the way with (9 pts., 3 rebs. & 2 blks),his partner 'D.H.' also provided (6 pts., 8 rebounds, & 2 asts. to C.C.). Ed Droughn chipped in with 7 rebounds & 2 points. __________________________________________________________________ 1:30pm--- I. H. M. 17 St. Martin 20 I.H.M. is big..... St.Martin played BIGGER. 'Sheed' and the rest of his guard crew pressured the rock and Malcolm Cadell and Rodney Hardee battled the big guys on the window creating the big upset without their big man Ian. For St. Martin- The score book was a little screw up but we know Cadell dropped at least a double-double(pts./rebs.). I won't go into what he did that would take too long.... let's talk about what he failed to do.......nothing!!! For I.H.M.- Brian Concio's 6points lead the way. 5 other players got on board with at least 2 points. ___________________________________________________________________ 2:30pm--- St. Raymond 26 St. Bridget 12 Well this one started out very interesting with St.Bridget winning the tap and going in for the first bucket. St. Rays had 2 starter on the bench to start the game (Handy & Boswell) and St. Bridget tried to take advantage of that leading 4-2 end of 1st qtr. In comes handy for the 2nd and it was off to the races. For St.Rays- 'R.J.' missed the 1st, half of the 3rd (light foul trouble) and the 4th qtr. to lead all scorers with 14 points(in only 10 minutes of play) also providing 11 rebounds & 3 steals for his 4th straight double-double. Thomas 'T.J.' Harris & Johnny 'Ace' Barnes chipped in with 4 pts. a piece. For St.Bridget- Juan & Jim Malizia lead with 3 pts. each. Gaskins adding 9 rebounds. 3 other players added 2 pts. _____________________________________________________________________ 3:30pm--- O. M. C. 27 St. John 33 St. John continues to roll with the hot play of 'Igie' and 'Wig'. This team is becoming scary as they settle into their coaches' system. O.M.C. hung tough short handed, missing Caldwell & Regan (no longer with the team) that's 70 precent of their 'O'. For St. John's- I wish a could read Butch's hand writing (thank God for rosters) ..... but then again no one can. Now back to business Joe 'Igie' Ignas lead them with (12 pts., 9 rebs.). Adam Mallor (6 pts., 6 rebs.), Connor Mulholland (4 pts., 5 rebs.) , Tommy Hutziduis (4 pts.) and Timmy 'Wig' Weglicki 2 points & a great job at the point again. For O.M.C.- Ladies and Gentlemen we have another Jordan in the building, as in Jordan Dean (18 points, 8-10 from the line.... great FT shooting) to lead all scorers and picking up the slack. Jeremiah Laster (8 points) despite 4 fouls also helped the comeback cause. ____________________________________________________________________ 4:30am--- St. Helena 34 St. Therese 17 Speaking of Jordan that's what this one came down to. St. Helena and Jordan put the pressure on a short handed St. Therese guard situation ( missing lead guard Meadows). St. Therese had some success from the man in the middle 'Big Drew' but they needed a little more than him to pull this one out. For St. Helena- Jordan lead all scorers with (the NBA calls it a 5x5 , we call it a 4x4 four categories with at least 4.... 20 points, 7 steals, 5 rebs. and 5 assists). I'm gonna sum up what he did in this game with one word...... everything!, just check the stats. Trust me he doesn't waste your time when you stay and watch his games. Terrell Adkins added 10 points & 3 rebounds and Malvin Reyes chipped in with 7 boards. For St.Therese- The Big fella put in work with 11 points and 15 rebounds. Jeremiah Graham chipped in with 6 points and 5 rebounds. |
