| Written by: Shannon Gilligan. illustrated by: Howard Simpson Despite the mostly pointless location, and a hardly revolutionary plot (although Terorism is very topical), I enjoyed Terror more then I expected to. It's written well, and sometimes it's stark and adult, taking this series to a new level.It has a lot less endings then usual too, which isn't a bad thing. I've never heard anyone here in Australia say 'he's got kangaroos in the top of his paddock' however; the author must have had a kangaroo loose in the top paddock when she came up with that one. |

| #85- Inca Gold | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Written by: Jim Becket. Ilustrated by: Leslie Morrill The Incas fascinate me. However, sdearching for remains of their cities in contemporary times can be a different story, as I discovered reading this book. It's an OK read, but definatly an anti-climax after how long I'd been looking forward to reading it. The villians are bland and under-developed, and there's an odd re-working of the famous short story 'The Most Dangerous Game,' which seems out of place. The ending on page 105 amused me though. |

| #86- Knights of the Round Table | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Written by: Ellen Kushner. Illustrated by: Judith Mitchell This is the second title in a row that's centered around a topic I'm very pasionate about, and I'm happy to say Knights definatly turns up tops, but that's no great praise for the writer, with the Arthurian legends for base materal, you'll struggle to go wrong. It's a lot of fun taking the place of famous Arthurian heroes and experiencing their adventures, particularly those of my favourite, Gawain. The only thing that lessens the book's appeal cannot be helped, and that is of course due to the fact that the book has to be squeaky clean, and most of the stories concerning the Round Table certainly aren't that (the key word being a three letter word beginning with s, that's never creeped into these books before unsurprisingly). Therefore some of the impact is lost in parts such as when you're after the Green Knight, instead of being tempted by the lord's beautiful wife, and getting kisses from her, you're getting 'yucky' kisses from a 'grown-up' after you've helped her bake cookies... However, this doesn't stop this from being one of the best in the series. |

| #93- Captive! | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| By Bill and Luann and Hampton. Illustrated by: Judith Mitchell I was hoping I would enjoy this much more than I did. Interesting setting (that the crappy title gives no indication of) but the story is very linear and pretty dull. Almost every decision is a "one choice leads to death, the other leads to continuing the story," and the death choice is always killingly obvious. The illustrations are pretty, and it's a nice to change to read a period CYOA story that doesn't portray you as an American youngster travelling back in time. |

||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Written by: Edward Packard. Illustrated by: Franks Bolle Despite the gimmicky title and cover, this is just about trying to save your old uncle's pig farm. There's the occassional celebratory silliness (like 'Sawtooth'), and my copy came with a mildly interesting 'Welcome to book 100' on the inside of the front cover. I think 'Moo Mud' would have a been a fun title for the story though. |
