Everyday Mathematics is a comprehensive curriculum that follows the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics standards.  Kindergarten Everday Math is an activity - based program where the children create many products - patterns, graphs, measurement, sorting, etc.  A product is anything made by your child.

Classroom
During workshop time we sorted M&M's according to their color.  Then we counted how many we had of each color.
Students sorting and counting bears.  We also "ate to 0" with gummi bears.
Building and measuring in the block area.  Students were not permitted to build things taller than their heads!
Creating puzzles with geometric shapes called pattern blocks is a great math workshop!
At this workshop, students place the correct amount of beans inside an egg carton.  Each hole has a number written inside!
Feely Boxes!
With partners, one student secretly places a certain number of items inside.  Their partner then feels inside to guess how many things are in the box.
This is a game called monster squeeze.  Mrs. Cox thought of a  magic number and the two monsters squeezed together until they found the correct number.  Soon, the students will think of the "magic" number.
