| Day 1 Listen to your teacher read and follow along with Buzzy, Reddy and Squirt. You will learn many fire safety tips, especially for kids like you. When you are finished looking and reading this web site, go back to your seat and create a poster. This poster should illustrate one of the safety tips you learned about. |

| Day 4 Visit Sparky's Website to learn all about fire trucks. You will visit the fire truck gallery by clicking on the camera and explore the fire trucks by clicking on the binoculars. Next, with a partner, you may click on the horn and drive Sparky's fire truck through traffic. When you are finished, go back to your seat and design your own fire truck. Remember the real fire truck we saw when we started our unit! Be sure to have at least 3 of the important parts of a fire engine! |
| Day 2 Yesterday you learned many fire saftey tips and ways to stay safe. Review these by looking at the posters and saying the tips you illustrated out loud. Now that you know all the safety tips, do you know how you will get out of your house or our school if it's on fire? Let's go to Sparky the Fire Dog's Website and "Escape with the Miller Family". After viewing and discussing the photos, you will go back to your seat. Using a school map and a red crayon you will show your escape plan. Extra - When you go home tonight, talk to your parents about your home escape plan and come up with a meeting place. |

| Day 3 Smoke alarms are very important. To learn more about smoke alarms, go to Exty's website. Listen to your teacher read and listen to a real smoke alarm. Next, you will work in teams and take the "smoke alarm quiz". Good Luck! When we're finished we will use the Smart Board to play "Know the Noise". Hopefully, you will recognize the sound of the smoke alarm! |

| Day 5 We're almost finished. Remember those fire fighters who came to our school? They do alot for our school and community. Let's go to Sparky's website again and print out a thank you card. We'll create some beautiful illustrations, sign our name and send the cards to the fire department. To celebrate your completion, go to Sparky's fireworks and create your own firework show! Great Job, Jr. Fire Fighters! |
