| this is the first half of an interview i found in the WA TV extra, with michala banas. it mentions all the young actors, including abe and the NED production, so i decided to put it up here. news - "greener crop" WA TV extra by allen newton (march 31st 2002) As WA viewers get set for new episodes of Always Greener, its stars are still enjoying a production break. ALLEN NEWTON caught up with Michala Banas, who plays rebel Marissa Taylor, to find up what they were up to. While Always Greener, the wonderful Aussie drama that captivated viewers last year, makes a welcome return on Sunday, its stars haven't gone back to work on the new series yet. The young talent on the show is taking advantage of that, sharing time at the beach, going out for a drink and taking in a movie or two while viewers catch up on the final 10 episodes of series one. Shooting on series two doesn't begin until June and younger cast members are making the most of the four and half month hiatus. Among them is Michala Banas (the 18-year-old Marissa Taylor), who with Scott Major (Tom Morgan), Daniel Bowden, who plays 16-year-old Jason Taylor, Abe Forsythe (16-year-old Campbell Todd) and Bree Walters (who plays 15-year-old Philippa Todd), have all emerged from the shadows of the two senior stars, Anne Tenny and John Howard. The young cast, mostly unknown before the show, have in some ways outshone some of Australia's most popular actors. Banas said shooting for the first series had been full-on and the break was also to provide time for the writers to deliver scripts for 28 episodes of series two. "We finished up at the end of January and I haven't been doing much since then. I do have a feature film coming up at the end of April that I have a medium-size role in, called Ned. It's an Australian comedy, a spoof on the Ned Kelly story, written by Abe Forsythe who's in our show," she said. "He's only 20 so it's very exciting and a bit of a spinout, but it should be good fun." The group of young cast members have become exceptionally good friends. "I don't drink, but after work we'll go out and they'll have a beer and I'll have a lemonade and we'll sit and chat or we'll go out to the movies or go and grab some dinner at the pub or hang out on a Sunday," Banas said. "It's real matey stuff, just like normal friends do."........ |
