| 1. "Third Eye" - While Cyn does not physically possess a third eye, he does sport one ability that could be ranked in the telepathic category. By diverting his conscious attention from the information obtained through the eyes, his mind can channel into various alternative properties of his surroundings by transubstantial means. Instead, the brain conjures an alternative image by interpretations of temperature variations, the presence of soul and life, and substantial properties. Since his eyes are no longer employed, the effect is constant in all directions, serving in substitute as omnidirectional "vision." This technique, though at first a mere instinctive measure for him at the time of his creation, has since been trained to be his normal method of visual interpretation. He seldom uses his eyes for their intended purpose, and thus, when his hood is down, they will blink very rarely since he pays them little mind. Although it is not conventional light-dependent vision, anyone prone to get that feeling of being watched (i.e. nearly every adult combative character on Furc) will most likely experience that feeling whenever Cyn enters the room, or even if he's simply close by, all at the players' individual discretions. He may not be paying said persons much attention, and may even be facing the opposite direction, but that won't hinder the effect. However, because of the lack of literal vision, light-dependent detail is a high sacrifice. He is essentially colorblind, and cannot necessarily distinguish particular details of, for example, an opponent's weapon. If he doesn't take time to elaborate on what he "sees" with this ability, he might mistake a morning star for a simple mace, or an odachi for a nodachi - differences that could provide a great inconvenience for Cyn. 2. "Soul of Steel" - Due to Cyn's prolonged use of the Fravashi, the dark nature of the electricity-endowed sword has caused the weapon and the wielder to begin a process of metaphysical fusion. The pulsing scar and the newly yellow eyes described in the description are the only noticable symptoms, and only when his face is visible in the first place. The process is irreversible, and Cyn, though not entirely aware of it, embraces this phenomenon. What this fusion has done is begin to 'leak' the electrical element into Cyn's otherwise soulless being. For being a soulless creature, the section of his transcendent self where a soul would reside is much like a vacuum, and particular breeds of magic are key prey for it. After weilding Fravashi for so long, this soul vacuum has begun to tug at the sentient energy of the sword, and a slow power-shift has begun. The sword is losing power while he gains it, so if another person were to gain the sword's favor it would be not perform to its original potential. At this point, he could be ranked as a slightly-below-average mage when not weilding Fravashi or Vernichtung, and touching him (his body, not his equipment) at any given moment can cause a electro-static zap slightly less powerful than the more conventional accidental ones (Fravashi itself has always and will always give a good jolt to anyone foreign to it so brave as to touch it). Although none of his other enchanted weapons are of a dark orientation, those of the same element as Fravashi will contribute to the development of Cyn's inherent magic ability. Enchanted weapons of different elements will not behave this way unless he gets his hands on another sentient weapon of a different element, which won't happen. |
