Forces of the Empire Game History

Blaine was born the son of a noble family, heir to the Line. Arrogant and vain, he was kidnapped and held as his family was destroyed in House War. Handed to the winning side, Blaine became a slave and was sold to a Dark Master who rebuilt the young man into a tool he could use and loosed him on rebelling worlds soon to be invaded.

With the Proctors, Blaine began subverting the populace via religious terror and waves of fanaticism. Resistance arose and fell in waves against them, and always there was Smith, an agent of the Company behind much that set back the invasion armies. Three Proctors died to Smith personally. Blaine failed to defeat Smith in combat, and so arranged a meeting through a neutral third party. Rather than backstab Smith Blaine worked out a deal and spent time with the mysterious offworlder. The two found they were a formidable team, and when Smith's sources in the Company warned him the invasion was going to fail and Blaine's Master be slain, Smith kidnapped Blaine and took him offworld.

Smith turned out to be Jarek Alderson, who had been investigating the reports of what was happening there under an alias and coordinating the counter offensive. Blaine accepted Jarek's offer of a position on another world that had been infested by pirates and crime organizations. The Aldersons put Aldragin out of business, and Blaine assumed control of reconstruction and dealing with the former elements who remained. Set up economic and trade ties with the Alderson Worlds and set up local government. Blaine took the Oath to Jarek and the Alderson Worlds, and assigned a representative to the Alderson Council on Shardakour.

Alt.Dragons-Inn Game History

Blaine was born an elven noble, handsome, arrogant and vain. A chance encounter with a traveller led to his death and Embrace at her ancient hands. He became her slave and plaything until she grew tired of him. He returned to his home by night, only to find that centuries had passed and his line dead. Everything gone and forgotten. The Dark one found him then, and Turned him, binding the vampire into his service and set about recreating him, strengthening him by diverse tortures. As Blaine progressed he received greater and greater powers, each with its own price in pain and servitude.

When the Dark One's thousand year captivity was nearing it's end 12 were chosen to go forth and prepare the way in the guise of Holy Proctors of a new and benevolent religion. Demons all, the most powerful servants the Dark One possessed, they took control of the old King and had their religion declared that of the state. Under the King's authority they went out and solidified their new 'religion', turning the populace against any 'witches' who might stop the Dark One's arrival, as a group of elven adventurers had done a millenia past.

Some joined willingly, from divine fervor or greed and a lust for power, those who did not were systematically hunted as Blaine had been, and either joined in fear, or burned at the stake. Those who joined were reconstructed as Blaine himself had been long ago into loyal servants of the Redeemer.

The greatest Proctor of them all was Proctor John, assigned to Montfort. A village best known for the quality of its ale at the Dragon's Inn, yet sitting atop so many ley lines that it was a focal point for anyone who was anything. While most of Montfort joined the Church willingly, many did not, including the vast majority of the adventurers inhabiting the Inn.

Proctor John's Deaconess, Thai, fell in love with one of these and Turned back. She was recaptured and put through intensive torture/reconditioning by Proctor John himself, but rescued before her Turning was complete and she disappeared completely from existence. Others were becoming a grave concern, particularly Smith and the Church's allies of the Limpia. Proctor John called upon the Dark One for a lieutenant and received Grand Inquisitor Blaine.

Blaine arrived in the middle of the night amidst a violent thunderstorm, with an army of demonic troops, and set about wreaking havoc among the Resistance while the Proctor concentrated his energies elsewhere. Blaine created the Tower Guard in order to police the area more effectively, and loosed a pack of Turned Garou into the night from where they'd been trapped. Personally capturing the banshee for her death song, he fed her nightly on the deaths of her comrades the Weavers, and the reporters.

Blaine met Smith several times, both in combat and negotiations. When the Dark One's armies began to falter against the elven armies of the north, Smith decided to rescue Blaine as he'd done Dalmanae, the Dark assassin sent to kill him, by removing her from this world into his own, away from the Dark One's reach and control.

Blaine formed a working relationship with the Company, and the Dark One was defeated along with the remaining Proctors Smith had not yet killed. Proctor John was slain by the ex-Deaconess, weilding a sword of immense power from the future.

World Notes:

FoE (Forces of the Empire) is a Star Wars role-playing group set in the ROTJ era more or less. The Emperor survived the Death Star II as did Vader who lapsed back to the Dark Side. The Alliance now controls a swathe of territory and the galactic civil war continues.

The club was begun way way back before the pre-quels and the two Sith rule but otherwise has incorporated much of these additional movies.
