Hm.... Over the years I've studied Spanish I've always wondered what the ACTUAL rule is for placing an adjective before or after a noun in Spanish. I've come to the following conclusion: If your adjective is figurative, it's before the noun, and if it's literal, it comes after the noun. "El hombre pobre" - The poor man (lacking money) "El pobre hombre" - The poor man (Awwww :( look at him.) "El amigo viejo" - The old friend (He has wrinkles.) "El viejo amigo" - The old friend (You've been friends for a while.) "Soy un tierno travesti" - I'm a tender transvestite (I'm sweet, loving, etc.) "Soy un travesti tierno" - I'm a transvesite that's tender (Don't touch me or I'll fall apart, I've been cooked too long.)
