On December 18, 1970 a child by the name of, Earl Simmons, was born into this world unaware of what was about to happen in the next thirty years of his life.  He knew growing up in the projects of Baltimore was gonna bring nothin but trouble for D so he moved to Yonkers with his aunt.  It's there where he discovered his passion for music.  He eventually was listed as a manic depressant.   DMX also has an affinity for dogs, he "ONE LOVE BOOMER" tatted across his back for his first dog that was killed and hit by a car.  DMX also has a scar on his wrist from a fan trying to rip off his watch.
In 1996 he released his first single "Born Loser" with the record label Ruffhouse Record who's main focus at the time was Kriss Kross and Cypress Hill.  It fell through people really didn't feel the rough style he brought forth.  So D went on to newer things joining Ruff Ryders/Defjam Records.  D collaborated with a few artists such as John Forte, Ma$e, The LOX, LL Cool J, Jermaine Dupri  and many other artists. So after he hit big with those artists D released "It's Dark And Hell Is Hot." in May of 1998.   The first single off that album was "Get At Me Dog" which was the first of three singles off the album to make it to the Top 10 on the Billboard. The other two singles to make it on the billboard where "Ruff Ryders Anthem" and "How's It Goin Down".   "IT'S DARK AND HELL IS HOT" sold over 3 million copies.

FLESH OF MY FLESH... BLOOD OF MY BLOOD was Earl's sophmore album, which was released in December of 1998.  The first single "Slippin" took Flesh of my Flesh.. Blood of my Blood to the top of the charts making DMX the only artist to have his first two albums on the Billboard 200 at the same time in the same year.  DMX was starting to become a household name.  D took a break from recording to tour with fellow DefJam artists for the Hard Knock Life tour.  After the touring was finished in 1999 D went to Miami to blaze up new joints for the new album, which was a switch for D because his first two discs were recorded in New York.

In Miami D recorded new joints for the new album "...And Then There Was X".  The first single "Whats my name" flew up the charts and help land D on the Billboard 200, his third album in 18 months to make it to the Billboards.   The second single " What these Bitches Want" D hooked up with Sisqo on vocals and Nokio on the beats.  The third single "Party up" became a summer anthem and made it big on radio stations all over and helped the third album soar up the charts.

Grand Champ is DMX's final album. DMX has come through so much and made such an impact on hip-hop. His fifth album looks to be one of his best, as critics have compared this album to 2pac's All Eyez On Me. This is a much better attempt at an album. The Great Depression was somewhat of a production mishap. Grand Champ is going strong and has 3 singles on the streets right now. X Gon' Give It To Ya, Where The Hood At?, and Get It on The Floor. X will go down in hip hop history as one of the best artists ever and will always be remembered because he had an incredible impact on the music industry.
