Jillians : Entertainment Review
"EAT. DRINK. PLAY." (Jillian's)  For years friends and I have done just that, ate, drank, and played all at Jillians in Norfolk's Waterside Complex. Whether you plan to have an exciting dinner at a Japanese hibachi grill, take the kids out to play video games, or hang out with some friends playing pool or watching your sport of choice on big screen televisions around the bar. Jillian's has it all!
My favorite room has over 150 electronic stimulation games. They have every beeping, light spinning, bells and whistles video game you could ever think of, including a six lane virtual bowling alley. The Amazing Games game room has a small bar surrounded by about twenty booths for sit-down dining, a game room prize center to cash in tickets, a section designated to virtual racing games that make you feel that you?re driving 100 m.p.h. and feeling every nook and cranny of a high speed track, and a whole wall of skee ball one of my favorites.
Jillian's game room definitely sounds like a family oriented venue.  However you will find there is a cut off time for children and adults may partake in alcoholic beverages throughout the day and evening hours. Jillian's was designed to give adults a place to play as well as provide daytime hours to families wishing to spend some quality time together. Although this section of Jillian's seems quite informal there is a dress code to keep things orderly. In order to be accepted into any section at Jillian?s, men must wear collard shirts, no jeans, and women cannot wear t-shirts or jeans. After 10 p.m., there?s even a cover charge of $5 to get in.
Another section in Jillian's includes a five star Japanese hibachi grill with seating for at least fifty people. Their superior chefs will entertain you while cooking you up some delicious fried rice with chicken, steak, or shrimp. Each entre is accompanied with a fresh salad, and traditional soup. Although, hibachi grills are typically pretty pricy; Jillian's Hibachi Grill is slightly cheaper than its competitors, and the entertainment value is through the roof; impressive compared to others. I would give the hibachi section of Jillian?s a 5 out of 5 rating any day.
Club Mojo also ranks among the top in its categories. On any given night you could find radio stations Z104 or 103Jamz broadcasting right from the dance floor. I have only walked through the club section at Jillian's; it seems to be a pretty popular event for club-goers all around the area. Finally, the last two sections include a bar with eighteen big screen televisions suspended from the ceiling and walls and a pool room with six tournament style pool tables. I have never been in the bar, except to peak around the corner at the Orlando Magic basketball score, but I'm sure its just as exciting and unique as the rest of Jillian?s. The pool tables have a reasonable rate and can be rented by the hour or by the game.
Again, no matter your mood when you get in the car to drive the 45 minutes to Norfolk, you'll think of one of the many things that Jillian's offers to meet your fancy for the evening. Jillian's club that includes the game room is open Sunday through Wednesday from 11a.m. to midnight, and Thursday through Saturday from 11a.m. to 2 a.m. My recommendation is the next time you are bored and looking for something different than the usual dinner and a movie, head on over to Jillian's for a variety of fun at the food and entertainment universe (Jillian's).
