Entry from Collin

During the first week, the rover team developed our first rover, but not without problems. We made and excellent drive system, that can go forward to manage rough terrain, but unfortunately cannot turn. This is delaying progress because we now need fix the issue. Our next step is to use rubber bands in order to drive both the front and back wheels for hopefully more power. If this does not work, we might need to gear the wheels for the same effect, which can be difficult. Additionally we built an arm and scoop to pick up soil and rocks but the design we too heavy to work in the end. We did manage to resign the arm and scoop effectively. We made the arm shorter and closer to the front of the rover, and used two motors for enough power to lift rocks. This upcoming week will involve a lot of problem fixing, and hopefully a nice ending product.
