Houston Cy-Fair Lions' Biking for Sight /

Houston Cy-Fair Lions Club Biking for Sight

The Houston Cy-Fair Lions Club has a long history in their community for involvement with visually impaired children and adults. Eye exams and glasses are given free of charge to needy school children in the Cy-Fair School District. Last year, approximately 240 eye exams and eye glasses were supplied by our Lions Club. Each year, scholarships are given to two deserving students graduating from the seven high schools in the Cy-Fair School District. Lions sponsor the Texas Lions Camp in Kerrville, Tx. Handicapped and diabetic children enjoy a week of fun. Our club runs a concession stand at the Lions Baseball fields at West Little York and Gessner. These fund raising activities by Lion volunteers provide eye glasses for needy children, send kids to a special camp, provide college scholarships, and provide other humanitarian acts for those in need.

Proceeds from last year's ride provided an additional 24 pair of eye glasses, needed equipment for 3 Boy Scout and 2 Girl Scout Troops, and two scholarships for two graduating Seniors at Montgomery High School.

To learn more about helping those less fortunate through Lions Clubs International or any local Lions Club, please contact Chuck Martin at 281-550-2798 or visit our web site at www.houstoncy-fairlions.org.

Enjoy Biking for Sight, and share your enthusiasm for cycling with others.

You may donate your used eye glasses the morning of the ride.
