Benjamin Moore has recently added "Aura" paints to their already successful line of Low VOC paints called Eco-Spec. Aura allows you to choose deeper base colours rather than the lighter colour limitation of the eco-spec line. Farrow and Ball has a long standing reputation for having the most natural paints. They use clay and the milk protein "casein" as a base for their paints and boast a full range of beautiful natural colours. Yolo paints, a ZERO VOC line, will soon be available in Toronto as well. They even offer a non-toxic line called Little Yolo designed specifically for childrens rooms. Aside from these high end lines there are Low VOC paints available from leading manufacturers like CIL, Behr and Para.

I am a 4th year part-time U of T student majoring in nutritional sciences. I am well integrated into the annex community as I have lived in the area for 6 years and am employed at Noah's Health Food Store as a manager and vitamin consultant. I cycle to all jobs and intend to use the AutoShare service to bring initial equipment and paint supplies. I hope to extend my business to employ other students on a casual basis.
