| Courcelles, as might be expected, has a cemetery - an extension cemetery where bodies gathered from other smaller cemeteries would also be buried some good time after the battles and war. I decided to include this example because it illustrates just how important the existence of these cenmeteries and graves are for relatives of the deceased soldiers. | His relatives have left two photos of Alfred by his grave and have also included his details and photos in the cemetery log and in the visitor's book. How important it must be for them to be able to make this tribute - even today... |
| And then there's the entry in the visitor's book shown below and made only last year - Fred has been found! How long it must have taken and how much it must have meant that he had been found at last. This is why the cemeteries and graves are so important, and it proves that we do still remember them with more than just words... |
