| With Paris being a business visit centred on the modern business district of of La Defense, it seemed only appropriate to concentrate my photography on the architecture and scenery of this location. So rather than have traditional Paris pictures (which you have all doubtless seen before) I've tried to choose some which capture the better elements of this new area. |
| The area of La Defense has changed dramatically since I last visited Paris - what must be some ten years or so ago. A lot more buildings and the area has expanded. The addition of some green areas and the likes of the fountains above take away the coldness. The sun also helped, of course! |
| Fundamental to La Defense is its position - on a direct line from the Arc de Triomphe and the Champs Elysees, as the picture above shows. Also, Defense has its own Arc, or Arche, directly opposite and in line with the Arc de Triomphe - all very symmetrical and geometric! |
