The Attack continues
Welchi attacks Blaster, Blaster attacks Windows
(by Nadia Molina)
October 2003 (Vol.14 - N°10)
-- the Win32.Blaster was the
virus of the year. It not only caused to damages to particular users and
companies, in addition it occupied the main place of the news in all mass media
in the technology segment. Win32.Blaster.Worm, also known like Poza or Lovsan,
is distributed through the normal connection to Internet. The virus stays itself
in the computer as a file of name MSBLAST.EXE and from hopes there that the user
connects itself to Internet to activate and to look for other computers as to
infect.
The peculiar thing
is that Blaster the past attacks a vulnerability of Windows well-known and
published by Microsoft from 16 of Julio. This means that if the users of Windows
had installed the corresponding patch, nothing would have happened to its system
and, mainly, Blaster would not have reached such popularity.

The great news that
was generated by the damages that the virus caused when it arrived at his more
disastrous stage did not stop there. Later he appeared his enemy WELCHI, a Virus
- Antivirus that arrives at the computers inn order to eliminate Blaster. In
order to do this it transmits the patch that corrects the vulnerability from
eight different URL.
In spite of apparent
the good intentions of the new worm, the good propagation of virus is a very bad
idea because finally they can damage archives. If you have to these worms living
your machine, finds the solution in
