Pulau Pangkor, the beautiful island of Perak, is located in the straits of Malacca just off of the coast of Lumut. Thus, you can get to Pulau Pangkor from the Lumut Jetty, which is just newly renovated.
Don't underestimate the size of the island. Yes, it's quite small, but it boasts beautiful beaches and nice weather. The sand is so soft and white that from the moment you see it, you will just want to take your shoes off and feel the softness of the sand.
The real attractions here are the enchanting beaches on the western coastline. Pantai Puteri Dewi , Teluk Belanga, and Teluk Nipah are marvellous for swimming or just basking in the sun, in complete privacy admist tranqull surroundings.
Besides that, you can also get a chance to see the fishermen gathering the day's catch at the eastern coastline. Ikan bilis (anchovies) and squids are famous in this island. In Pangkor town, there are lots to look at, like
boat building, fish being dried or frozen etc....
Whatever the reason, make sure you drop by Pulau Pangkor for an unusual and relaxing holiday, at the same time enjoying the straits of Malacca, or shall we say, the beautiful sea. More>>
