While we do not always take notice of poetry contests scattered across the Internet, the contest recently held in The Yahoo! IRCFlirt Chat Club is one in which many of our members participated including: Mgonzales01, Isitis, RomanticSmile, Lane_Ware, ArrylT (contest coordinator), and myself (AngelPie_Mouse).

The contest genre was restricted to poems about love--i.e: love, passion, friendship, flirtation, lost love, unfulfilled love, the unhappy relationship, etc.--in keeping with the nature of the club Yahoo! IRCFlirt. A bonus was allowed for those who wrote on the death of John F. Kennedy, Jr., which occurred during the contest.

Spanning a period of thirty days, there were some fifty-four entries from a dozen poets. Many of the works entered were extremely good. Not surprisingly, our members scored very well. Prizes were won by:
