How to arrange a repair on your product

Laptops, digital camcorders, cameras and projectors.

If your problem can’t be solved over the phone, we will arrange for a courier to collect it or for your product to be sent
back to us. This service is available Monday to Friday (excluding bank holidays).

  • To receive next day collection for your laptop you must call before 10am and live within 30 miles of a Cybernet Online UK store.
    If you call at the weekend we will collect your product on the following Tuesday.

Desktop PCs, monitors, printers (not including printers under £130)

  • If the problem can’t be solved over the phone, we will send a technician out to you. This service is available Monday
    to Friday (excluding bank holidays)
  • To receive next day service you must call before 10am and live within 30 miles of a Cybernet Online UK store. If you call at the
    weekend we will visit on the following Tuesday.
  • If specialist equipment is needed we may arrange to take your product to our technical centre.
  • For service provided directly by the manufacturer, response times may vary.
For Plasma and LCD TVs 24 inches and over

For Plasma and LCD TV’s 24 inches and over we will arrange to send an engineer to your home to repair you product.
  • This service is available Monday to Friday (not including Bank Holidays)
  • If specialist equipment is needed to repair your product we may arrange to take your product to a technical centre
  • For service provided directly by the manufacturer, response times may vary.
Plasma and LCD TVs under 24 inches and all other products
  • Return it to any Cybernet Online UK store, where we will arrange to repair or replace it if it can’t be repaired.
  • If parts are needed for your product, we may need to send it to a technical centre

What to do if your product breaks down outside the UK
  • Get a quote for repairing your product
  • If the repair costs the equivalent of £150 or less, or £400 or less for a laptop, pay for the repair and claim the cost
    back from PC Performance Customer Services. You will need a receipt showing the cost of the repair to do this.
  • If the repair costs the equivalent of more than £150, or more than £400 for a laptop, please send details of the
    repair and a copy of the quote to PC Performance Customer Services.

Healthchecks
For the lifetime of your PC Performance Support Agreement for a PC or laptop, you are entitled to one Healthcheck
each year. To book your Healthcheck, call us on 0700 599 3435 . We will give you an appointment time to carry out a Healthcheck on your PC or laptop in-store. Present this document to the store at the time of the healthcheck.
Monthly Payment

When you purchase a PC Performance ‘Pay As You Go’ Support Agreement you will pay monthly by direct debit or credit
card mandate giving you product protection for as long as you need. PC Performance will automatically renew your Support
Agreement each month unless (I) your product is replaced, (ii) you ask to cancel your PC Performance Support Agreement
or (iii) it is cancelled under the terms of the agreement.

Important Information

Your Support Agreement is with DSG Retail Limited, Registered office: Maylands Avenue, Hemel Hempstead,
Hertfordshire HP2 7TG. Registered number: 504877

  • All PC Performance Support Agreements are backed by an independent trust fund. The trustee is RBC Trustees
    (Guernsey) Limited.
  • We will not be responsible for any failure to carry out our obligations under this Support Agreement if it is caused
    by any circumstances outside our reasonable control.
  • You must do all you reasonably can to keep the costs of providing the support as low as possible and allow us into
    your home or office at all reasonable times to repair the product.
  • We recommend that you back up your data regularly as we can’t guarantee to restore data if your product needs
    repairing.
  • Unless agreed differently with you in writing the language of this Support Agreement and all communications
    relating to it will be in English and all aspects of the Support Agreement, including negotiation and performance,
    are subject to English Law and the decisions of English Courts.
  • Where appropriate fully guaranteed refurbished parts may be used.
  • Occasionally you may have to pay for the repair and claim the cost back from us.
  • This Support Agreement does not affect your legal rights, which include the right to a remedy for defective goods.
    If you buy goods which are faulty when sold you have the right to claim for a repair or replacement for up to six
    years (five in Scotland) from the date of purchase. However, after the first six months you have to show that the
    fault was there from the start and the longer it takes for the fault to show up the more difficult that becomes. PC
    Performance gives you benefits which are in addition to your legal rights and you have the assurance that your
    product will be repaired free of charge if it fails at any time your agreement is current. Further information about
    your legal rights can be obtained from your local Trading Standards Department, Citizens Advice Bureau, or
    through Consumer Direct.
  • Data Protection - We ask for your name and address so that we can give you an efficient after sales service.
    We may pass your name to companies within the Dixons group of companies or other organisations that we have
    carefully chosen. They may contact you with offers of goods and services. If you do not want to be contacted in
    this way, please write to PC Performance Customer Services by one of the means listed below, quoting your
    reference number.
What is not included
  • Plugs, wires, cables, batteries, discs, data, cartridges, tapes, bulbs, fuses, lamps used in projectors and other consumable items (items which are regularly replaced).
  • Cosmetic damage where it does not affect the operation or safety of the product.
  • Repair costs that have not been approved.
  • Protection if your product is lost or stolen.
  • Any loss suffered because you can�t use the product, or any loss other than repair or replacement.
  • Damage or breakdown that is due to flood, wind or other severe weather conditions.
  • The cost of repairing or replacing a product, which fails because anyone neglects, abuses or misuses the product.
  • Any service or benefit where the Service Agreement has been suspended.
  • Any claim where the monthly payment has not been received or where the bank has reclaimed it.
  • Image retention on a Plasma or LCD TV
  • Protection for Plasma or LCD TVs if used for business for Laptops
Complaints Procedure
PC Performance is the administrator of the Support Agreement and aims to provide the service in accordance with the terms
and conditions of the Support Agreement. In the event of a complaint, please follow the procedure outlined below.
  • Contact PC Performance Customer Services as indicated below. If you’re not satisfied with the outcome, please
    write to the Customer Relations Manager at the address opposite.

Common Misconception! Won't I be covered by household insurance?

Even if you have household insurance:

  • You may not be covered for breakdown caused by mishaps or mechanical breakdown.
  • Portable products may not be covered.
  • There may be a limit or excess to your claim.
  • Your annual premium may increase after you claim
PC Performance Pay As You Go Further Information

Can I purchase an extended guarantee or support package from someone else?
Yes. We would recommend that you compare what other companies offer, as sometimes they will only cover the cost if your product has a mechanical fault or may not guarantee speed of service.

Can I purchase a PC Performance at a later date?
You can buy a PC Performance product support up to one year from buying your product.

What happens if you cannot fix my product?
If your product is beyond economic repair, or we can't source the necessary parts and do the repair within 6 weeks we'll replace it.

If my product is replaced under PC Performance, is the remainder of my Support Agreement cancelled?
If your product is replaced your PC Performance Support agreement ends (except if it qualified for Instant Replacement) and you will receive vouchers for the remaining value of your PC Performance Support Agreement to use when you next buy PC Performance.

If Cybernet Online UK went out of business, would my product still be protected
Yes. Our promise is to protect our customers' PC Performance Support Agreements. There is an independently managed trust fund to meet all our obligations to our PC Performance customers.

Cancellation Notice

If you are not completely satisfied with your PC Performance Pay As You Go Support Agreement, you can cancel it within 14 days of buying it and, provided you have not used the service, you maybe entitled to a refund of any payment made. You may do this by phoning PC Performance Customer Services on 0844 561 4000. After this period you can cancel this Support Agreement at any time, but no refund will be available. You may also give notice of your intention to cancel your PC Performance Support Agreement by writing to PC Performance Customer Services.
