Introduction
Your parents have just returned
from the reading of your wealthy, eccentric Uncle Otto’s will. They
present you with the following letter from Uncle Otto:

The Task
Your task is to learn about the stock market and
research some companies to find several companies that you could invest
your inheritance in.
Remember that to get your inheritance, Aunt Helen
must see your research. You are to give her
graphs of the stock's
performance over the last 5 years and
graphs you make traking
the stock weekly for at least 6 weeks
a paragraph about why
you chose this company
Your report to Aunt Helen may be in the form of
graphs drawn on graph
paper
graphs printed from the
Internet
spreadsheet documents
and graphs made from them
plus your paragraph stating
why you chose this company
Send your reports to Aunt Helen by
mailing the hand-drawn
graphs or printouts
mailing a disk with your
documents saved
posting them on the Internet
for her to read
Process

using the information in the letter.

and selecting stocks.

As you make your selections, remember to check Uncle
Otto's letter for advice about choosing companies. When you have
decided on your stock picks, you will create a portfolio and keep track
of the prices at weekly intervals for 6 to 8 weeks. Don't forget
to graph the prices while you are tracking them. Remember you will
have to tell Aunt Helen your reasons for selecting each stock.
