Watching

Willow knew it was not really a good idea to be out this late at night but then she had things to do and research to perform. Her first year of collage and she had a huge report to do in her emotional barriers class. Worse then that the professor was known for picking out the smartest in her classes and battering them on a constant basis, not room for mistakes or it could mean the difference between a passing grade and one that just barely pass. Willow shuttered, just thinking about it. What would everyone say if she came back with a D or something?

Lost in her thoughts Willow didn't see the dark figure that looked as if it had a halo. She was much to busy running over her self and dealing out the guilt she thought she needed in order to keep things on an even keel. Stepping from the shadows behind her he watched, and remembered. He had almost killed or maybe even turned her the night he went to her dorm room. She had smelled so sweet and was nice to him in a frighten out of her mind sort of way, Spike grinned to himself. The taste of her fear didn't last as long as he would have liked since he found out quickly that his head was now his worst enemy.

Spike watch her walk away and began to follow her again, her movements enthralled him as humans sometimes do to vampires. They loose themselves in the human they watch, the incline of a face, color of hair, the way eyes meet. It could really be said that a human called the vampire to them, begged for the release of either, death or life as an undead. Spike really didn't care about all that only that she was moving and he must follow her.

As they moved down the darken street, her in front and him far enough behind so that she would not see him. Spike let his eyes take in her full shape, slender yet not to skinny, nice hips, long legs. He really could feel those legs wrapped around him, hear her moans of passion. He wondered if she would be a screamer, or would she just go quietly mad. The thought peeked his interest and he nearly made his move to speak with her.

But from the shadows of a doorway a hand quickly darted out and grabbed Willow in a firm grip, yanking her into the darkness. Spike wasted no time in getting up with where she had been and nearly diving into the shadows of where she had went. He could see her struggling against a someone, and he heard the words. "Still pretty one, you will make a fine childe, sniffing sounds, ahh yes there is power in you little one, very nice indeed." the voice was smooth as chocolate and the creature that had it's arms around Willow was strong.

Spike grabbed one of the creature's arms and pulled it off Willow. He tossed her aside and began in earnest to fight the other vampire. It howled at him and reached for his throat, clawing and biting. Spike only backed out of its reach and the landed a few punches of his own. Pulling his stake he let the thing lunge past him and staked it in the back. It wasn't much to look at before it was dusted; now there was nothing left.

Spike turned his attention to Willow, but she had been rendered unconscious and was lying in a heap on the ground. Spike gave a half cock smile and bent to look her over, she would live. But the bang to her head would need tending. Spike was glad he had thought to feed before coming looking for the redheaded witch. Her prone body would have been way to tempting and he didn't relish the idea of the headache he would receive now that he had that sodding chip.

Lifting her into his arms he made his way around and out of the alley, then off to his lair. In his thoughts he shrugged, where else could he take her, the watcher would stake him before he could explain. So would the slayer, and Xander, well no one cared what he thought. It was just a better idea to take her where she would be safe yet he wouldn't get dusted.

Willow began to wake her head throbbing. The smell of dust and age filled the air. She sat up slowly looking around; as her eyes started to focus she heard sounds coming from behind her. So she slowly turned to see who or what she was with. Her thoughts on the thing that had grabbed her, she shivered. Still smelling it's awful breath she wondered if it were going to eat her now. Willow remembered it had said she would make a good childe, meaning a vampire child to it.

Disgusted she tired not to make a sound, hoping to make and escape if this thing wasn't to close. Suddenly Spike was there, in front of her now 4 feet away, half cocked smile on his face and cigarette in his mouth, he drawled at her, "'ello, Red, what's a nice piece of fluff like you doing in a crypt like this". He smiled at his joke as if it were actually funny and Willow looked at him stunned. "Spike, she said softly, mostly because any louder and her head would explode, what am I doing here". Her question coming off more like an accusation.

Spike only grinned at her more making her feel like she was being stupid somehow and answered: "Now is that anyway to treat your hero lov?" mock hurt in his tone. He walked over to her and leaned down to look her in the eyes. His face inches from her, "I would think you own me a kiss, at least" he then leaned to her ear and whispered, "Unless you want more than that lov".

Willow blushed furiously and turned away from him. She tried to stand and found her legs to unsteady. Spike had to grab her arms so she could keep her balance, and even that didn't help much. Only landed her in his embrace as one leg gave out entirely, lunging her neatly against the blonde vampire. She couldn't help but notice how solid his chest was and how he wrapped both arms around her protectively.

Willow was surprised to know that she wasn't repelled by his touch, more the opposite was true. She could feel her heart racing and wondered if he could to. Duh, she thought, Spike 'is' a vampire, no doubt he knew the moment she woke up even. Willow didn't want to think about what he might have been up to while she slept.

Spike was in no hurry to release her and Willow seemed to be OK with where she was as well. He traced elegantly male fingers down her back in a soothing manner. Willow found herself leaning into him, until she brought her mind sharply back into focus, "no no, bad Willow" she thought, and she pulled away from him.

Spike seemed a little uneasy as she moved away and she wondered what he would have to feel uncomfortable about. He was the big bad right, chip or no, he was still one bad vampire. "I really need to go, she muttered at him, people will be expecting me". Spike looked at her and smiled sadly, "expecting, that's a good word for it love, not hoping to see or looking for, but expecting. Like you were some sort of reliable clock that always went off at exactly the same time everyday."

He looked somewhat cross at the thought of people taking Willow for granted and in her own quiet way she seemed to be thankful someone didn't see her as just a tool to be used and put away when not needed. Oh she knew they didn't mean to treat her like that.

The second year when Buffy had come back, Xander was starting to notice her, finally. But the Buffy, and bang, all thoughts of her ice cream covered nose were banished except for the comment, "you have something on your nose Will," Xander had made. She would have thought he would be nicer; they had been best friends since grade school.

Seemed like once they were with different people somehow they had been attracted to each other again. Very bad timing and Spike had got into the middle of that one, with his, "I want what's mine " routine as he pined for Drusilla. Willow knew then that she really needed Oz, she didn't come second to him.

Well not until this year, when he met up with the female werewolf, and mated with her. Willow could still feel her heart jump at the sight of Oz and the she wolf, naked in his cage. She wanted to kill them both, at the very least hurt them a lot. She cried over that constantly until she decided to cast a spell on Oz. She almost went through with it too, but then she really didn't want to hurt him. She had loved him and wanted to stay together, work it out somehow. It was Oz's choice to leave, they all left her.

She now found herself interested in a girl, which was odd. She wasn't used to the idea of a woman with her. But she and Tara hadn't really gotten to that part yet, she hadn't even really been sure what she was feeling for Tara now. She only knew it was different, she was different. Her feelings were turned somehow, maybe because of all the hurt the men in her life had cause. She really didn't know, didn't care.

Her thoughts came back to present and she looked into the bluest eyes she had ever seen, he was close again, holding her steady. His face so close she wondered what it would be like to kiss the pouty mouth before her. Her eyes traveled down from his mouth to his solid chest, a soft sigh escaping her lips. Willow's head swooned again and she nearly toppled over if not for Spike holding on to her. "Hey now, lov, I think you need to lay back down a bit" his voice held concern.

Willow smiled faintly and let him set her back down on the, umm she looked at where she was and realized it was his bed. Her shoes gone, he had made her comfortable without undressing her. Just undoing a few buttons here and there. That would give her room to move and breath. She wondered how he got so kind, why he was being so nice to her. Didn't he almost shove a broken bottle though me face one time, she thought.

She could see him sitting on the edge of the bed, he started to lightly stroke her hair and she closed her eyes. She could feel him puller he up against his cool body, and as her mind began to slip away to dream land, she heard his voice, soft but defiant, "mine" was all he said. She wondered what was his, but lost track as sleep over took her pain filled body. She would have to ask him about it at a later date. Then darkness surrounded her, settling her in a blanket of nothingness.

Spike cuddled her close to him wrapping his arms around her and letting her head rest on his chest. She still needed rest, she would be OK, but she had taken quite a bump on her head. He had to watch her very closely for the first couple of hours. Her behavior when she woke only told him that she wouldn't be good on her own for a few days. This suited him well, he wanted her to stay.

If he had his way she would never want to leave, and as soon as he got rid of this sodden chip, he would make her his mate. She wouldn't like that if she knew right away but he felt if he had some time she would come around to what he wanted. He had a lot of time to think about it too. She would be in and out for a day or more and he knew she wouldn't feel like moving much then.

Spike was happy, he had want he wanted, or he had her for now. Until that bleedin' slayer found out. The thought made her cross and he held Willow's unconscious form tighter. In his mind he was chanting, mine, mine, mine, like some sort of mantra. When he thought about the slayer taking Willow away his demon face came to the front and he growled, Willow mumbled something in her sleep and tried to roll over.

Spike calmed himself and pulled her closer to him again. He wasn't really tired but it was day, he had eaten and she was sleeping. Spike knew he would wake if anything in her changed so he let himself doze off. His dreams filled with a certain redheaded witch.
