Chrysler Imperial

Hybrid Tea 4-6'

'Charlotte Armstrong' x 'Mirandy'

4-5" dark velvety red blooms with strong citrus-rose fragrance.45-50 petals.

Exhibition form. Excellent for arrangements. Fragrance is incredible and vase life is well over a week! One of the most fragrant roses I have ever encountered. It can also produce super-sized 6" blooms under the right conditions. Growth habit is like a spreader rather than upright.Mine grow about 3' tall but a good 4' wide. A definite contender as my favorite red rose. If only 'Veteran's Honor' had this fragrance! This rose is in my flower arrangements every week. I love to show 'Chrysler Imperial' to visitors and watch their reaction when they get their first whiff.

Fairly quick to repeat bloom. Color picks up bluish-magenta tones with age. Watch for powdery mildew. Prone to dieback. Good winter protection advised. Introduced to promote the Chrysler Imperial car.
