Olga Says:
why does the dog come up to the horse and ask the horse why hasn't he eating his trunk? If someone had a trunk they wouldnt eat it so since the horse doesnt have a trunk what was going through the dogs mind to make him ask that question ? It is completely obsurd and therefore not funny...that is why I hate this joke because if u think bout it, it makes absolutely no sense. In conclusion the dog should have never gone up to the horse to ask him why he was not eating his trunk as the horse does not a have a trunk to begin with so therefore the quote "sorry i thought i was an elephant" is completely
pointless...
Responce:
The Dog is obviously curious to know why the horse wasn't eating his trunk that's why he asked. With this being true, the horse must have, therefore, had a trunk.. Furthermore, the reason the horse wasn't eating his trunk is because the horse was slightly confused about his species, he thought he was an elephant.. SO, the dog, thinking the horse was rude to not eat his trunk, asked the horse why he hadn't yet eaten his trunk, the horse then excused himself and explained that he thought he was an elephant.
The total irony of this joke makes it funny and therefore, not pointless.
Dog and Horse Joke.
One day a dog went up to a horse and said
"Excuse me sir, but why have you not eaten your trunk?"
the horse then responded
"Oh, I'm sorry, i thought i was an elephant."

Discussion:
Olga Says:
So are you trying to say that this horse had a trunk, which is impossible in itself, and therefore he didnt eat it because he was an elephant?
So then where does it say that if u have a trunk you should eat it unless you're an elephant? But a horse should not have a trunk anyways. I believe that this dog was perhaps  high and thought he saw a trunk on the horse and therefore asked the drunkhorse y he hadnt eaten it. The drunk horse then responded in how he thought he was an elephant as the overdose of alcohol had impaired his judgement making him unsure of his species. But then again why would a dog and horse be having a civilized conversation over a very mundane subject? This joke is not ironic in anyway and therefore still pointless and should be either discarded or modified so as to make sense.
Responce:
How can you say that it is impossible for a horse to have a trunk. Is it not the fact that anyone, in theory, can have a trunk.  The truth is, the horse obviously had a trunk of some sort, just as the bear did in the message sent to me by christy, and the dog believed that it was rude that the horse hadn't yet eaten his trunk. Because it's a known fact that when one has a trunk, one should eat it. Furthermore, neither of the two animals were on drugs of any kind. The horse was just a little confused about his species. perhaps he was tired and simply forgot. when the horse realized that he ws in fact a horse and not an elephant, he ate his trunk. The irony in this joke is obvious and the joke therefore makes perfect sence.
