John's Portfolio:
Work done just for the sake of creating art

This was created as a 'learn how to use photoshop' project in one of my highschool art classes. Always remember to saturate before you print.

In one of my darker times. Since my background was currently set to flat black, I found that I could see my own reflection in my monitor. So, as I'm sure I had something better to do, I decided to stipple myself off of my reflection and add a few dreary and depressing lines to it. It's REALLY hard to stipple with a mouse, I wouldn't recomend it.

Another piece done in my dreary period. It was originally just pen, but when I scanned it in I added the blocks at the top and bottom for the text and added color to the background. I was a little lost at the time.

I hate music classes. I love music but I hate classes about music. Go figure huh? Anyway, this one was 'inspired' by Beethoven's 5th Symphony. In reality it was just a coincidence that I was listening to it at the same time as I was making this, but we can always pretend for a grade. The work isn't all that obtrusive to the eye.

Have you ever taken your hand, made it into a fist and pressed it, pinky-side down onto the steamed side of a window? Like in a car? And then you add five little dots above the mark and it looks like a baby's foot. Ok, so I learned that when I was like 7 and it was pretty cool. I put that knowledge to good use when I created this background for my computer.

Another art class project. Most of the work is stolen pics ("shhhh") but it's more focused on how I used them. I pretty much just like the colors.

I took a little took a little 'artisit lisence' with a friend of mine and reproduced one of her pictures in a new light. This was done right around Christmas time, hense the holly leaves.

A small project done in class using grid paper, pens, and a ruler. Fun eh? Yes, I did poorly in that class.

It's a little light, but heres a pack of gnomes doing what they do best.

Inspired by Holloween, this unfortunate trick-or-treater isn't going to get any candy from this house.
