The Blue Rose

She was a tender rose bud,

just beginning to blossom
God! Beauty graced her with its' splendor
In all the World there was not one
Quite like her...
Yet she was different from the rest
And this diversity saddened her so very much
For what she desired most...
Was to resemble all her sisters
And this diversity was her crutch!

What made her different was her hue
Unlike her sisters,

which glowed with a marvellous pink blush...
Her countenance was...blue!
In silence she suffered such disgrace
Why had God reproached her so?
As to disfigure her face
With such a homely glow?

A young girl came across the meadow
One golden afternoon
And beheld the lovely glow
Which iminated from the roses

on that lovely day in June.

The girl smelled their wonderful fragrance
And delighted in their beauty...
She wanted to pick just the perfect rose...

one with elegance;
She wished for the perfect rose
that would shine for all the world to see
And then she gaced upon the most exquisite rose of all!!!
She was mesmorized and gasped in splendor
This rose was so different that it did enthrall
her very essence and filled all her senses
With such joy and wonder
At the beauty she had gazed upon...
Never had she seen such beauty in her young existance!
As this one perfect rose so rare!
All the roses in the garden
Felt proud as proud can be...
For they felt sure that she would pick them
For their exotic beauty
And the blue rose felt a tear...a solitary tear
For she knew that the girl would pass her by
! But she need not fear...
The girl bent down and it was 'Blue' whom she came by
And 'Blue' was tickled pink with glee...
For it was she that would grace the girl's world
with 'True' beauty & elegance...
As she sat pretty inside that ivory vase!!!

Murder At Sleepy Hallow

It was on a rhuemy night
In late October
By the pale moonlight
Near the old Northern Church you shall remember
There was an old, old, archaic cemetary
By the creepy town of Sleepy Hallow...

Old man Steve,
The old caretaker...
On All Hallow's Eve...
By the creepy embers...
Would wander endlessly
Throughout the icy graveyard...mysteriously;

The moon was full and oh, so eerie!
The wind howled like a wounded animal
The terrain was cold and oh, so scary!

On this chilly, Eve in late October
Come midnight you can feel a chill run down your spine
And on some premonition you can gather
A certain supernatural phenomena just about to occur!
About half past midnight Old man Steve
When the nocturnal sun shone brightly upon the ghostly sky
On the Eve
of October thirty-one...
Steve, wandered alone and weary
By the light of candlelight Through the tombstones
he walked by
Heaven knows what business brought him there!
But as i spied upon him behind the Church
I could see a trail of bloody bones oh, too clear!
I could see, keenly as a raven upon its' perch
That crazy geezer digging feverishly away
All night long he dug that hole
While his eyes lay open like a dead man's eyes
His mind's eye replayed his evil crime
As the churchbell echoed loudly its' accussing chime!
His whole life flashed before him

as it revealed the awful deed that he did sow...
Then he let out a ghastly cry
As the sickle swung to and fro
And to this day and this very hour
No body knows for certain...
What became of the old geezer...
and I, in utter shock and surprise
Was struck blind upon witnessing this terrifying crime!
Now, nobody can ever know the fate
Of Old man Steve, the old caretaker...
Nor solve the Murder at Sleepy Hallow
And I in my madness still play
the whole thing over and over in my head...
Wishing, O, wishing, that it were I
whom Mr. Reaper took instead!!!

Fahrenheit 104

The room went up in flames!
Set ablaze by the intensity...
Nevertheless, tell me--who really is to blame?

On the nightstand, one single candle
consumed itself too quickly...
I guess the heat was too hot to handle!
So it burned itself out from the intensity.

The atmosphere, too,
was so hot and sticky,
mingled with sweat, humidity, and dew.
And the density of this steamy night!
Add to this the carnal heat
Of two bodies grinding together
between satin sheets,
Like two matches hitting against sulfer...
As they combust and ignite!!!

Oh! The temperature rose to 104F

consuming everything until all was gone!
A 5- alarm fire,
enveloping the very soul of passion,
now, do tell me, please...who really is to blame?
The candle, the hot sticky summers eve,
or the heat between the sheets!

Chivalry in the 90s?

My body aches all over!!!
My heart is crushed so much
I wish upon a four leaf clover
That I can feel loves sensual touch!!!

Oh, I wonder
In this modern age and time
Do women who are afraid of thunder
Get rescued by a certain prince, sublime.

Are there still knights-in-shining armor in the 90s
Or have they died in the afterglow
Of the turn of the century...
Where are the real princes now!!!

Are they hidden in some kingdom?
Concealed within the ghettoes...
Beyond the slums?
Are there anymore chiverly? Heaven knows!

But late at night upon my bed
I swear that I can listen to a faraway voice
More beautiful than any sound Ive ever heard...
Amid the hustle and noise...
And the chaos of traffic down below...
I hear a soft ballad in the distance.
I lay my head upon my pillow...
And I can see a handsome prince!

He is coming my way
He is fighting the muggers and the dealers...
Who by day
Walk as decent citizens and drive 18 wheelers
But by night they rob and steal;

My friend, Rita says there aint no such thing.
"Ha! Girl you are crazy!"
You must find a real man to give you a 14K diamond ring...
Not waste your time all day...

There are no knights down 54th Street
Only the Knights of Columbus Square...
Girl, you better land down on your feet
And start shaking that derrier!

But I am certain that even in this modern day and age
There still exsists men of nobility
Who are willing to fight violence and rampage...
With boldness, bravery, and chivelry...
In the name of love, romance, and honor...
For love they will put up a good fight...
And i know it is true...
For this very night Ive met a true, authentic knight!

A Summer Fling

You came to me one Summers Eve
From the warm climate of Puerto Rico.
With a warm, hispanic passion
So suave and rico
We became good friends...
Inspite of our commitments;

It was a sweet thing!!
It was the sweetest of all seasons...
It was the coolest, sweetest summer fling!
Ahh!! What good times we had!!!
How I hated to part...
When the season ended....it was so sad!!
It nearly broke my heart!

But you had your commitments as well as I
And we both had to let go
And when you said goodbye!!
I held all my emotions in and wouldnt show
The pain I felt inside;

just could not let you see my cry!

But we enjoyed our long goodbye kiss
And the feel of your hand touching my brow
I will always tressure always
As am certain
That you will always cherish
The precious season we shared
In the company of each other!

And I am sure it will remain forever
A part of you and me that well both enjoy...
A lovely season where neither reservation nor fear
Kept us from pure, unadulterated fun and joy
Which made our hearts dance and sing!
Thank you for your companionship, my friend
I just hated that it had to end!!
Forever we shall keep this summer fling
Inside, locked within our memories...
And carry it within our hearts like a precious souvenire!

Limerick: Red Hot Lover

I once had a red-hot lover
Who got hot with me under the cover
When the two of us got together
It was a towering inferno
Which seemed to burn forever!!!

In Too Deep

The black waters of the deep engulf me--
Water so black and deep...
Like blue-black ebony;
The pressure of the gigantic waves
Overwhelms me so!
And I, frantic, a scream of terror gave.
As I descended like a spiral down below
Unto a watery grave.

My body fell where sunken ships descend...
A bed that with ancient ruins and the dead is paved!
My fate now lies in neptune's hand
But my eternal soul, even Heaven cannot save!

Days of Wine and Roses

Can you remember days of yore
When the brisk knock of a true gentleman
Came softly rapping at your door?
And when you answered he gave you
A most distinquishing nod
Which just by the gesture you knew
His heartfelt intentions;
Gone are the days of wine and roses
When lovers met underneath heaven's crystal chandelier
In formal attire
And danced all night long until dawn
To the tender tune of love's angelic choir
When hearts melted unceasingly
By love's eternal fire
And romance swept everyone off their feet
As lovers swayed in a romantic trance
By the steady rhythm of harps and lyres
And lovers everywhere
Tried desperately to satiate
Their ravenous desires
Those were the good old days of yore
Which will return never more!

Loves Blazing Parasite

No matter how much pesticide I use
I cannot kill those annoying weeds,
Which harm and do much abuse
Like gigantic reeds...
Which murder the seedlings growing in the fertile soil

The weeds grow tall and sturdy...
Within the garden of my heart,
Spreading like wildfire....
Engulfing the seeds of love that I implanted

in the fields of my soul to impart
The very message that my speechless soul does clamor

Oh, this verdant parasite is such a nuissance!
It strangles all my hopes and dreams with one deadly squeeze
Like a boa constrictor.....it sucks loves existance
Until it can no longer breathe!

Like a raging fire, jealousy, greed,

and dishonesty consumes
all lifeforce out of passion
It stinks the air with a putrid perfume
Of smoldering grass and smoke
and the fomaldehyde of a mortican

Red flames destroy all your hopes up

in one instant...
if you are not careful...
Anger ignites the parasite
And it rages on, catching and spreading
like a cancer deep within your soul
Till it chokes all your joys in one single night...
Till you are left with nothing.....
till you are left with nothing at all !

Luke!!!! You, young Jediknight of yore!!!
Argh!!!! Youve finally have joined the darkside!
Have you forgotten who you were before?
A brave young Jediknight with good sentiments in whom I could confide
You were a nobel young knight indeed...
Defender of the galaxy!!
With a tremendous amount of skill and speed!

Do tell, Luke!!! What or who possessed you and urge you to join
The Emperial crusade?
Was it a dark voice which stirred up some yearning in your loin
That did so cunningly persuade
A nobel Jediknight with your caliber
To betray the Rebel cause?
For shame!!!
Now, tell me.... what would Master Yoda say
If I were to take you before the Council?
"Hmmmmm! Young Luke....Tsk, Tsk! Join the darkside, did you?
Tell us this...How feels it your betrayal? How feels it your betrayal?
Hmmmmm! Turn over , young Jedi...your lightsaber!
You are certainly a disgrace
To the Rebel base..and the Jedi Temple!"

What a shame, Luke!!! Youve betrayed even me, your sis!
Our father, Anakin Skywalker turns over in his grave...
Now youve crossed the line, young skywalker and have joined the Sith..
What? You think you are so brave?
Even our father, Anakin Skywalker
thought twice and mended his evil ways...and turned over to our side...
The good side..
Have you forgotten, Luke how Obi Won Kenobi turned you into a Master Jedi?
What happened to your heart, young skywalker? How dare you to defy
The Force, young man!!!
Once your heart emanated so much joy, love, peace and light
Now it is dark...darker than Emperor Palpatines soul..
Are you really certain, Luke, that this is worth a fight...
Resist! Resist the wretched call
Of the Empireal Starship
And return to your previous role
Of defender of the galaxy...Dont let Master Yoda strip
You of your Jedi powers!!! Resist! Resist if you will!!!
Jedi Master Luke.... As Princess of Alderan and your beloved sister...
I command you to reconsider!!
And turn back from the Darkside into the light of goodness, strength and honor!!!
Use the Force, Luke to resist the Darkside
May the Force of goodness be your shield
In which you can always, always confide..
The Force will always lead you to the right path! The Force is your Guild....
Resist, Resist all hate and wrath!!!

September

At the end of summer,
When skies are amber...
And leaves begin to wither and dye their shades
From forest green to crimson red...
you know September is here again.

When the atmosphere is fresh and crisp
But summer is still not over
And you can still feel the warmth of summer
Yet feel the silent chill of Autumn in the air...
You know September is finally here at last;
August once had an affair
With bittersweet September
A lengthy courtship followed suit
Till Venus fused the two together.
This miracle bore sweet fruit
Which blessed Mother Nature
And doused her with bitterswet perfume
Warming her soul
With the essence of Autumn Midnight Passion...
That was how Autumn really came about!

Ravens Lair

Upon a Tudor cottage
Hidden, deep within the woods
With yellow picket fences and a fairly big garage
Lived a sweet young lady, nobel, kind and good,

Sunshine on a human frame
Surrounded by daisies and fleur-de-leis
Made good use of her name
And in her throat lies
The gift of song of a dozen night-in-gales

The Sun, overshadowed by
Dark culumus clouds did hide
The appearance of the azure sky
And the perfect day, blue and warm...
gave way to a bonafide...
Thunderstorm.
Thunder, like the mighty hammer of Thor
Struck and then lightning tore
Through heavens skin...
Then the downpour
Like angry crows pelting in heavy rivulets..

She quickly ran inside
And drew the curtains and hid under the coverlets...
She found a haven to hide...
A safe refuge
Against the madness of this sudden deluge;

And fear, like a lance pierced her heart.
On the walls dark shadows formed
The scent of musk, black leather..and pierced body art...
And laughter mingled with the noise of the storm
twirled round her head like a nightmare!

On her nightstand she caught sight
Of her beloved mother-of-pearl coffer
Which contained her only true possession..

A picture of her lover
and a sweet, love letter of deep passion.
And with the horror that transpired that night
She clutched it tightly against her chest
Like a protecting amulet.

In the corner of the mirror
She caught sight of something evil--
A skull-shattering shriek peirced through her soul
And during an upheavel
The wind tore the shutters open
And in flew a filthy raven...
And perched upon the maidens bedpost
Dressed in black apparel
It frightened the poor girl till she was pale as a ghost.

With its steady amber-red glare
It studied her every gesture
And she lay there in a trancelike daze.
For a period of an hour
Both creature and maiden played a strategic game,
For they both wanted of the same.
But the Raven, being such a clever bird
Had the better plan
In an ingeneous snare...
He created a diversion...

With the loudest shriek she ever heard
The evil bird of ill-omen
Lifted wings and took flight
Clasping the maidens coffer with its sharp claws
And in the scuffle
It knocked a candle
And the Urn containing the ashes of the maidens mother
Spilled upon the floor
And the Raven flew off with the maidens only true possession
To its Ravens lair
