                   *** STRPIX 3.9.5 REV 10. ***
                   By Turbo Pascal, 10-2003

Hi,

This is an updating version, mainly it was focused to make Strpix3 to XP compatible, but also i added a new important
feature that makes worth the effort to download this new version for Win98 users as well.

What's New:
-----------

* 1.- Xp Compatible. Strpix3 should work Ok on windows XP and also in any Opengl compatible videocard, most likely
any Opengl problems occured previusly on some videocards should be solved now.

* 2.- Correct Static Mesh light handling is implemnted now, also a Light editor dialog is included for define easily
internals light on Statics mesh.

in WAD files there are two kind meshes, one kind used for MOVABLES, and the other kind used for Static mesh ornaments.
In Game, Mesh for movables are affected by externals light, (gunshoots, flares, spot lights, etc). Ornament meshes are meant not
to been affected by external lights, they have defined internally static lights intensities for each vertex in all his faces.

In previus Strpix3 version, any imported DXF was marked as MOVABLE kind mesh, so your ornaments where affected by external lights,
but the users was having some problems where the Ornament looks too dark in game except when it was light by a flare or gunshoot.

In this new Strpix3 version, when you Import a DXF file, the program will ask you what kind mesh it should be, for movables or
for ornaments ?, when selected for ornaments it also allow you tell the initial light intensity for all vertices in the mesh,
later you can define manually the ligh intensity on each face easily in similar way you do when texturing.

If you define a imported mesh as movable over a static mesh slot, then it will works exactly as in previus Strpix3 version and
in Game the ornament will be afected by external lights. Doing the inverse way most likely will make the game crash.

Light Editor:
-------------

1.- Select a static mesh, dissable the "Show Box" option.
2.- Press CTRl+L to bring the lighting editor dialog.
3.- Check the "Enable Lights" checkbox. You will see your model rendered using internals lights.
4.- Select the desired light intensity using the trackbar control, values are from 0 to 31. (31 is maximun Dark).
5.- Do single Click over any face in the mesh to apply the light in similar way as you do when texturing.
6.- you can press "Change all" button for apply the light in all faces for current mesh.
7.- you can press <F10> for switch render window background color from black to white.

Don't forget to disable to "enable light" when you are done to get back into texturing mode.

Thanks.

The Strpix3's Source code was sent to Lisbon Portugal for been tested on XP by a Guy called ICEBERG, using a Opengl
framework project that i sent to him, he was able to found what need to be fixed to make strpix3 XP compatible, so
please give thanks to him for allowing this version posible; from my side of the world THANK YOU SO MUCH mister Iceberg.

StrPix4 someday in the future?, there are good chances that happen.

Good luck,
