Strpix and CADs Programs
Strpix3 can export the models found in the WAD to a CAD program and edit the polygons or let you built new objects from scratch.
Strpix3 export/import model via DXF file format, and the best CAD program for edit this kind file is AUTOCAD version 12 or above, you just open the DXF, edit the model, and save back.
There are some other good CAD programs that let you open/save DXF files compatible with strpix3, but most the time with those programs you have to select the correct setting for make your DXF file strpix3 compatible.
Rhinoceros Version 1.0 or above
The 2th best CAD program (and very close from the 1th) for edit the models is Rhinocheros (any version).
When you are going to save the DXF select the next seting in the Save DXF dialog Box:

Well, maybe Metaseq is not the 3th best CAD out there for edit compatible DXFs, but there is a Powerfull functional Freeware version that is good enough for make the work.
The main problems is that metaseq is not supporting full layers names required for strpix3 for store the texture info on each polygon, so all model edited/built with metaseq will lack the textures when is imported for Strpix3, so you will have to retexture the object manualy later.
Also the setting in metaseq for make the DXF strpix3 compatible are a litle problematic, due that metaseq invert and rescale some cordinates when the DXF is opened/saved.
For Opend DXF files use the setting noted below:
- In <MULTYPLY> put "1"
- In <x> digit put "2"
- Click the <Swap YZ> button,
- Check the <Invert Face>
For Save DXF use the setting below:
- In <Multiply> put "0.01"
- In <x digit> put "0"
- Click in "Swap YZ" buton.
- Check <Triangle have four points" option.
- UNCHECK <invert Face> option, (it is already inverted when was
opened)
