Celebrating Intentional Acts of Kyndness
and what you can do be kynd
Have you ever had one of those really bad days where nothing is going right and all you want to do is cry. Think you are alone? Well you aren't and with the holidays around us random depression strikes even the meanest of hearts and even worse to those already having  a bad go of it. We cannot fix everyones problems but we what we can do is lift their hearts even if for only a small fraction of a second. SO practice intentional acts of kindness and no that same person might not know it was you but will possibly decide to practice intentional kindness towards another and it will come full circle.
You never know who will recieve your kind act, could be a single mother, someone who has difficulty with their health, or maybe a person without a care in the world, they will all still be grateful.
We shouldn't have to be praised for what we do but enjoy the knowledge that you have made another smile or their heart lift.
So now that you have decided to gift someone with intentional kindness what will it be? Need help? Here are some ideas for you to try.

How about when you cleaning off your car windows, wiping away the snow, reaching over and cleaning your neighbors windows as well.

How about visiting a nursing home and dropping off decorations or store bought goodies to be distributed signed with love.

Or this one....for the kids too...when shoveling your walk or driveway help out your neighbors and do theirs too. Kids please ask your parents permission before leaving your designated area.

Have a neighbor or know of someone who lives near you that has difficulty getting around or is disabled? How about delivering their mail and paper to their door or making friends with them. You would be surprised at what you do not know about a person. And think of all the ideas you can share.

Visit the elderly in your neighborhood and drop off goodies or inquire if they need anything while you are at the market. Some people do not have relatives to help them nor are they able to always do it themselves.

Do you have access to free tickets for the ballet or baseball games? How about donating them to foster homes or orphanages. Perhaps if they cannot use them for the children they could raffle them to raise money for toys or snacks.

Do you like to read? Donate your time to literacy programs in your area or sit with a resident at the nursing home.

Donate old books and magazines to your local library, schools, nursing homes, and elderly living centers. I am sure they will be greatly appreciated.

When shopping pick up an extra item or two and drop it off at your local food pantry.

pInstead of only donating to Christmas present drives, try donating throughout the year as well. There are many children that have nothing when they are placed in foster care or when tragedy strikes a family.

Like to do crafts, make something for someone you love or someone you do not know.

If you have toll booths in your area pay for the driver behind you. Sometimes it is only a few cents and just think it could start a trend and you may be on the recieving end of it someday.

When you arrive back at your car after shopping and see that the parking meter has run out on your neighbor be kind and add a dime so they do not recieve a ticket.

Know a lonely neighbor, mail him or her a list of activities in your community as well as offering up your friendship.

Garden anyone? Sometimes in our own personal gardens we produce to much or have more than plenty pickled or canned items. How about placing a gift tag on it and drop one off to every neighbor on your street. Please make sure to include your name as it is food and in these current times I myself would not eat something if I was not sure of its origin. Include your phone number if you like or an offer to visit you.  You never know you might find mothers looking for other mothers to spend time with, new friends for your children, or someone else your husband can watch sports with besides you. :)
