THE MORNING OF: Joy was working 7am to 7pm at the hospital. For those who do not know, she is a nurse RN at Central Montgomery Hospital (use to be North Penn). I had 200 roses overnighted to arrive at my house early in the morning. I was planning to work that day but get out a little early so I could set up. The roses were delivered but my mother had a charity donation being picked up that day also. When the driver for the charity showed up to pick up the bag that my mother had left he mistakenly also picked up the 200 roses. Don't worry, I got the roses back later that day after about 20 phone calls. Yes I was having a heart attack at work though. Here comes those gray hairs.
ASKING THE QUESTION: After work I headed over to her mom's house to ask her mom for her hand in marriage. (her father went to be with the Lord last year) Her mother gave me a hug and said yes so I was a little less nervous. I went over to Joy's house and started setting up. I had 7 vases filled with roses and petals on the floor and table. I had a candle-light dinner set up and a poem by the stairs with dinner music ready to play. When she got home I told her to put her stuff down and come with me. I had a sheet covering the kitchen doorway which saw into the dinning room. She knew I was making dinner for her and when she saw the sheet just though I was being a little silly. I started the music and escourted her down the hall. 3/4 of the way down the hall I opened the poem "To My Future Wife" and read it to her. She started crying and I had to read it again later b/c she didn't hear a lot of it. I got down on one knee and asked her to marry me. She said YES!!!!! Then I showed her her dinning room. She was ecstatic. She was so excited and I was so nervous we didn't even eat. We went to her family to share the good news.
