Failure

ariella does not agree that each struggle a girl has along the path of her slavery should be labeled a failure. She will explain. ariella opened her "Guide to Manipulations" by explaining that: Slavery (true slavery such as Gorean slavery claims to be) is seldom easy and there are going to be times when any girl in her right mind is going to fight it. Besides girls have been programmed to fight slavery. In that same guide, it was detailed how manipulations which slaves are prone to get tripped up with are direct descendants of societal conditioning a girl grows up with. We are trained from birth to fight against our nature and it continues until such time we give ourselves to slavery and the long, arduous process of de-programming begins. ariella puts emphasis on *long* and *arduous* process as this is truly not something happens magically when a girl sinks to her knees and lifts her crossed wrists above her head. The clicking she hears in her ears is not the societal conditioning being shut off. The work lays ahead of her. It is not realistic to believe a girl is not going to have struggles as her slavery deepens. It is not realistic to believe a girl is not going to fight against her slavery. Even in the books, girls who were taken to Gor fought it tooth and nail. On Earth, a Master does not even have the benefit of society "at his back" and the ability to beat the she-sleen and throw her into a cage in the basement and feed her crumbs of stale bread until she weakens. Even on Gor that was only one step in the process of a girls training. The books detail a learning curve as girls are restricted more and more as they learn each aspect of their slavery. It was recognized by Gorean men that girls taken from Earth (at least those men who knew of Earth) were not up to par with a girl raised on Gor. She was not expected to hit the ground running. The word fail itself is not such a bad word: 1 a : to disappoint
the expectations or trust of The problem for ariella is that the word "fail" has a very negative connotation to it much like "doormat". We have all made mistakes and ariella hardly thinks any of us need the negativity of being labeled a failure because we have struggled and "failed" ~smiles~ Girls who are taken to Gor were not fed to the sleen first time they failed to maintain position or tried to run away or mouthed off at the men who pressed a hot iron to her thigh or various other things they did. You are welcome to call your shortcomings failures if you want. ariella will continue to call them struggles and pick herself back up and keep trying. ariella personally thinks she is going to get alot further down the road to slavery without the negative baggage on her back ~smiles~ ariella was trained a girl has two options -- to be pleasing or not to be pleasing. ariella will stick with the old ways as she does not see every little instance of displeasing behavior as failure. It is simply a choice to not be pleasing and one which will have consequences to be sure. That is a far cry from failure.
