Dream/Vision

This is an essay ariella posted to the Active Worlds Forum

This girl has seen the White Buffalo in a dream. She dreamed that as she approached the White Buffalo and fell to her knees, others joined her and the prayers became so loud that the White Buffalo stood up and smiled. The Mother trembled beneath us and we knew for sure we would die this day. There was the deafening roar of a millions of hooves upon the Mother and we closed our eyes and prayed harder and we cried. We cried for our sins and the sins of others. We shivered with fear as our tears and prayers flowed freely. We knew for sure we would die this day.

Then just as suddenly as it began, all was still and there was a quieting over all the Mother as though a millions of souls had been trampled under the hooves of the White Buffalo, their voices forever silenced. Some of us screamed and some ran in fear. This girl felt her heart stop and was certain she had died too. She slowly opened her eyes to gaze at what remained. Fearful. She has never known more fear.

Where once stood a White Buffalo, now stood a beautiful Indian Princess. In her arms she held a Pipe. She smiled and hummed. Her lips never moved, but even the lowliest of People heard her say "Do not be afraid. As it was before, so it will be again. I come to remind the People how to respect the Mother."

This girl could not believe her eyes and ears and looked down upon herself to see if she was really alive and when she did, she saw that she too was a beautiful Indian Princess. It was at this point she knew it was a dream and woke herself. She rushed to her computer to record the dream.
