HWF's Summer Massacre
Live from University Hall in
Charlottesville, Virginia

The three major wrestling federations have dissolved, leaving only Matt Johnson's H.W.F. All of the stars of E.C.W., W.C.W., N.W.O. and the W.W.F. are now in the new H.W.F. The World Champion is Steve Austin. The U.S. champ is cWo member, Sabu, the t.v. champion is Shawn Michaels, and the tag-team champions are the Pump Masters, Scott Steiner and Gusberg. Tonight is HWF's last card for the half-year, Summer Massacre. The main event will feature HWF owner, Matt Johnson in a steel cage match against his arch rival, Raven, who will also face Cactus Jack in a Japanese Death match featuring exploding barbed wire boards and thumbtacks. Also, Steve Austin will defend the HWF World Title in a three way ladder match against Chris Jericho and Triple H. The tag-team titles will be on the line when champions, The Pump Masters defend against Scott Hall and Kevin Nash. The U.S. title will be held high above the ring when champion, Sabu, tries to take back the U.S. belt that Steve Austin stole from him and gave to Mikey Whipwreck. Shawn Michaels will defend his T.V. title against Jeff Jarrett. Ric Flair will try to settle his 7 year feud with Shane Douglas in a Russian Chain Match and Terry Funk will try to get revenge on his former pupils in a three way dance.

vs.
                                                                Ric Flair                                                     Shane Douglas
The rules of this match are simple. No lame "touch all four corners", this was just two men, hooked together by a steel chain and the first man to get a pinfall wins. Flair came out first and grabbed a mic. "Shane Douglas. For seven years, you claimed that the Nature Boy has held you back. Well, back when I was a booker, you weren't ready to style and profile with the main event players. You were still riding around on your skateboard claiming to be a Dynamic Dude. You may have carried ECW to the nirvana of pay-per view, but you know what ECW was? It was a second rate promotion run by a cheapskate who operated out of a piss-ant pawn shop in Philadelphia. Tonight, I'm gonna prove that you were never on the same level as the Nature Boy and that I am still the wheelin, dealin, kiss-stealin, limousine riding son of a gun. And to top it off Shane, there is one simple truth that you have not learned in this sport and that is to be the man, you gotta beat the man. And that means, you gotta beat Ric Flair pal. Whoooo!" Douglas came to the ring without Sid and both men were hooked together by the chain. Douglas took the early advantage by pulling Flair close and belly-to-belly suplexing him to the canvas. The Franchise got on top of his nemesis and punched him in the face unmercifully and busted him open. As he stood over the fallen Flair, the veteran kicked his leg up and caught the Franchise in the groin. Flair wrapped some of the chain around his fist and hit Douglas in the face with it. The Nature Boy used his loaded fist to strike Shane in the knee with it, softening him up for the figure-four leglock. Flair bent down to apply his famous hold, but Douglas reversed it into a small package for two. Incensed that he only got a two-count, Douglas battered Flair's face with the chain and wrapped it around the Nature Boy's neck. Douglas slung Flair over the top-rope in an attempt to strangle him. Flair wouldn't give up and when Douglas saw this he dropped the Nature Boy and he jumped to the outside. Douglas set up a table on the outside and piledrove Flair through it. He rolled Flair back in and went for a pin, but could only get a two. The Franchise put Flair on the top-rope and superplexed Flair off the top. As both men landed, Flair used his chain to pull Douglas underneath him and hooked the tights for the win and the three-count. winner-Ric Flair

interview-Cactus Jack and the Cult
"Scotty, I guess last week's show of force wasn't good enough and frankly I'm not surprised. The hardcore life may be a lie, but it is hard to give up. People have asked me, "Cactus, if you hate hardcore so much, why do you do it?" I'll tell you why. The hardcore life is an addiction. You can no more tell me not to go through a table, than you can stop a junkie from putting that needle in his arm. You see I've made my bed of nails and I've got no other choice but to be powerbombed on it, but that's why I'm trying to save you by delivering you into the loving arms of the cWo and Matt Johnson. Can't you see that Scotty? We're your only salvation. That is why I've got to rip your flesh open with barbed wire tonight and pin you in the center of the ring. Now I know all of you out there at home are probably thinking that my prediction of victory is a bit premature, but it isn't. You see there are two reasons why I know for sure that I'm going to win. Number one is that I am the King of the Japanese Deathmatch and I've never lost a death match and I don't plan on losing one now. Reason number two stems from the fact that, while I know some people find it hard to believe, I am the loving father of an 8 year old boy and a 6 year old girl. A favorite pastime in the Foley household is to visit an amusement park called Santa's Village. Well, I was at Santa's Village last week and my little girl and I rode on the Reindeer Coaster. As we sat in the car waiting for ride to start, my little girl leaned over and kissed me on the forehead. I asked her why she did that and she looked at me with the unspoiled innocence that a child can have and said, "Because you're a good man daddy." Right then, I realized something. You see, as a powerful righteous man, I also wield a lot of power. And with great power comes great responsibility. I have got a moral obligation to set you on the path of righteousness with me, Scotty. There are millions of kids out there cutting their flesh open in the backyards of America and it's my fault. I've got to atone for that Scott. I've got to set an example so I can show those kids that it is not okay to go through tables. That it's not okay to fall on thumbtacks or off of cages. And to set that example, I've got to beat you so badly tonight that you, along with everyone watching at home, will realize the hypocrisy of the hardcore life. And after I've pinned you 1-2-3, you will have seen the light and when they lower the cage and Matt Johnson comes out, I will pick you up, wipe the blood from your face and we'll all have a big group hug and together we will make a better tomorrow for the youth of America. Think about what a beautiful scene it will make Scotty. Bang, Bang!"

New Jack                                         Terry Funk                                                           Tommy Dreamer
Dreamer and New Jack both ganged up on the Funker to start this match. Dreamer held Funk while New Jack hit him in the head with a garbage can. New Jack put the can on Funk's head and Dreamer hit it with a steel chair. Dreamer and New Jack then realized that they were working together and couldn't stand it so they began pummeling each other. Dreamer ducked a chair shot by New Jack and waffled the Original Gangsta with a golf club to the side of the head. Dreamer backed New Jack into the corner and charged at him with the garbage can, but New Jack kicked it back into Dreamer's face, busting him open. Funk, who was gushing blood, struggled to his feet and rolled out of the ring. As Dreamer and New Jack traded punches, Funk went back to the dressing room and emerged with his flaming branding iron. Funk went to the top-rope and bopped New Jack in the head with it. The Funker went to hit Dreamer with it, but The Innovator of Violence used a steel chair to deflect the shot. Dreamer hit Funk with the chair and ddt'ed him on it for the victory. After the match, Funk picked up the flaming branding iron and crotched Dreamer with it as he was celebrating. Funk then piledrove Dreamer onto the flaming branding iron and used it to burn New Jack. winner-Tommy Dreamer

vs.
                                                                    champion-Shawn Michaels                               Jeff Jarrett
Jarrett started this match out by slapping HBK in the face. Michaels went to punch Double J, but Jarrett ducked and hit him with a dropkick to the mouth. Jarrett tossed HBK out of the ring and slammed his head on the steel guardrail. He went for a piledriver on the floor, but Michaels backdropped him. As Jarrett struggled to get back on his feet, he was nailed by a plancha from HBK. Michaels rolled Jarrett back into the ring and went up top for a moonsault. HBK took too much time and Jarrett belly-to-back suplexed him from the top-rope. Jarrett locked on the figure-four leglock, but HBK wouldn't submit. Michaels got over to the ropes and Jarrett had to break the hold. Frustrated, Jarrett went to the outside and got his guitar. He swung at Michaels' head, but The Icon ducked it and nailed Sweet Chin Music for the three count. After the match, Sid Vicious came from the crowd and knocked HBK out with a guitar shot. Shane Douglas came down and all three men made the Triple Threat hand sign. We have seen the rebirth of the Triple Threat! They all stomped on Michaels until the rest of the Outsiders 2000 came down to make the save. winner-Shawn Michaels

vs.
                                                        Champions-The Pump Masters                                                               The Outsiders
The champs came out and Big Poppa Pump had some hoochies on his arm. Steiner took the mic. "I had to bring my own freaks because C'Ville women are too skank for Big Poppa Pump. After me and my partner beat these pretenders to our throne, me and my hoochies are gonna go in the back and I'm gonna do some pushups. That doesn't sound too exciting but one of the hoochies is going to be underneath me when I'm doing them. And then when I'm done, they'll call me the Big Bad Booty Daddy and there will be two more women who know that there ain't nothing finer than Scotty Steiner because Big Poppa Pump is your hookup, holla if you hear me. "The Outsiders came to the ring and stared down the champs. Big Poppa Pump made the first move by nailing Nash with some big punches, while Gusberg and Hall traded blows. Nash stopped Steiner's momentum by hitting him with a big foot to the face and whipping him into the turnbuckle. Big Sexy used his patented elbows to open up Poppa Pump. Meanwhile, Gusberg took over on Hall by spearing him. Gusberg then used a pump-handle meltdown to drop the Bad Guy. The former cWo enforcer went over to help his partner by clipping Nash's injured knee. Gusberg wrapped Nash's knee around the ringpost and slammed it with a steel chair. Hall charged Steiner in the corner, but Big Poppa Pump caught him and threw him to the mat with a vicious belly-to-belly suplex. Big Poppa Pump went for a steinerline, but Hall ducked it and dropped him with a fallaway slam. Hall went to the outside and stopped Gusberg from hitting Nash's knee with the chair. Hall posted Gusberg on the outside. The Bad Guy got a table from underneath the ring and set it up in the ring. He set Steiner up for the Outsiders Edge, but was lowblowed. Big Poppa Pump steinerlined Hall out of the ring. The champs then set Nash up on the top-rope and set the table up in the middle of the ring. Big Poppa Pump went to the top with Nash and tried to Frankensteiner him through the table. Big Kev held on to the top-rope to stop it. Nash then countered the Frankensteiner with a huge jack-knife powerbomb through the table. Hall held Gusberg's leg to keep him out of the ring while the referee counted the pin to give the Outsiders the tag-team titles. winners and new tag-team champions-The Outsiders
U.S. Title Ladder Match
vs.
                                                                champion-Sabu                                            Mikey Whipwreck
Whipwreck tried to leave the ring and get away, but he was stopped at the ramp by Steve Austin. Austin dragged Mikey back into the ring, tossed him inside and took a seat at ringside. Sabu threw the ladder at Mikey and hit him in the head with it. Sabu threw Mikey into the ropes and frankensteinered him. The U.S. champion set the ladder up in the corner and tried to whip Mikey into it, but Mikey reversed it and sent Sabu into the ladder. Mikey ddt'ed Sabu and set the ladder up in an attempt to get the belt. He made it to the top rung, but Sabu dropkicked the ladder from underneath him, sending the underdog falling over the ropes and to the concrete floor. Instead of going up and getting the belt, Sabu set the ladder up in the corner and hit Mikey with a plancha. He went over to Austin and gave him the finger. The Rattlesnake pasted Sabu in the head with a chair and rolled Whipwreck into the ring. Mikey looked like he was going to get the belt, when cWo member, Bret Hart hit the ring and tossed him from the ladder. Austin got into the ring and used a stone cold stunner to drop the Hitman. Sabu had recovered from Austin's chairshot and moonsaulted onto the Rattlesnake who was giving a fallen Hart the finger. Sabu then set up the chair in the middle of the ring and went for his Air Sabu leap on Mikey, who ducked it. Sabu's jump sent his head into the ringpost, knocking him unconcious. Whipwreck saw that Sabu was out and climbed the ladder and grabbed the belt. As Whipwreck celebrated, the cWo came running in and the new champ hopped the guardrail and ran out through the crowd. winner and new U.S. champion-Mikey Whipwreck!?

HWF World Heavyweight Title
3-Way Ladder Match
vs.  vs.
Triple H                                      Champion-Steve Austin                   Chris Jericho with Big Red Regulator and the Old School Avenger
This match was set up when Jericho stole the HWF title belt from Austin. Jericho came out before the others with the Big Red Regulator and Neil "The Old School Avenger" Little and took the mic. "Tonight, Y2J will finally bring the HWF title back to the cWo where it belongs and out of the filthy hands of that beer-swilling, degenerate redneck, Steve Boston. After tonight, Matt Johnson will finally have a champion that he can be proud of and the children will have a role model and a paragon of virtue that they can look up to because I always say my prayers, take my vitamins and drink my milk. The same goes for my cohorts, The Old School Avenger and the Big Red Regulator. I mean look at the muscles on the Big Red Regulator, who wouldn't want their child to grow up and look like that. As far as you go, Preparation H, just stay out of Y2J's way, follow the plan and there will be a big reward in it for you." Jericho gave the ref the belt, which was suspended high in the air, and Triple H came out and they both waited on Austin to come to the ring. The Rattlesnake surprised both men by coming out from underneath the ring and belting both men with a steel chair. Austin suplexed Jericho and rammed Helmsley's head into the ladder, drawing blood. Austin picked up the ladder and swung it around in the air, nailing both of his opponents in the face and busting Y2J open. The Big Red Regulator got up on the ring apron, distracting Austin. This gave Jericho the opportunity to dropkick Austin in the back, sending him flying to the concrete. As this was going on, Triple H was setting the ladder up in the center of the ring and was climbing up to get the belt. Jericho turned his attention to Triple H and yelled, "What the hell are you doing?" Triple H looked down and flicked him off. Y2J used the steel chair that was in the ring to hit the ladder, knocking it from underneath Triple H. Jericho then placed the ladder on the fallen Triple H and Lionsaulted onto him. Meanwhile, on the outside, The Big Red Regulator held Austin while The Old School Avenger measured the Rattlesnake for a chairshot. Austin lowblowed The Regulator and the chairshot hit the cWo member square in the head. Austin then used a Stone Cold Stunner to take The Old School Avenger out of the equation and he rolled back into the ring. The HWF champ picked up the ladder and rammed it repeatedly into The Game's chest. As Austin turned around, Jericho, who had climbed to the top-rope, dropkicked the ladder into Austin's face, drawing blood. cWo leader and HWF founder, Matt Johnson then made his way out to the ringside area. He helped Jericho set the ladder up in the middle of the ring and Y2J started climbing. Before he could reach the top, Triple H shoulderblocked the ladder and Jericho fell off of the ladder to the concrete floor and knocking him unconscious. Johnson got into Triple H's face and yelled at him, "You and you're ass-buddy's are done in HWF! Don't you know who I am, I'm Matt Johnson! I own you!" With that, Triple H hit Johnson with a right to the face. Helmsley turned his attention to the Rattlesnake and pedigreed him to the mat. As Helmsley climbed the ladder, the C'Ville Icon pushed it out from underneath him sending Triple H crashing to the floor as well. Seeing that his corporate, cWo champion was knocked out, Johnson went to the outside to revive Jericho. Johnson poured water on Jericho to wake him up and dragged him back into the ring. As Johnson struggled to help Jericho, Austin pulled the C'Ville Icon off of Jericho and delivered a stunner to him. As Austin taunted Johnson, Jericho went over to him and reverse ddt'ed the champion. Y2J then went for the double-powerbomb on Austin. As this happened, Triple H had recovered enough and struggled back to the ring apron. Austin swept Jericho's legs from underneath him and slingshotted him into Triple H and as Jericho stumbled back from the collision, the Rattlesnake used a Stunner on him. Austin then set the ladder up and climbed up it and got his HWF title belt. winner and still HWF champion-Steve Austin

interview-Raven
"The Greek poet, Dante, wrote that there are nine circles of hell, with each circle becoming increasingly horrifying. The ninth circle is reserved for the worst sinners of all, traitors. Traitors to God, traitors to country, traitors to family and traitors to friends. Cactus Jack, tonight I damn you to the ninth circle of hell. Jack, you've always craved the attention of the masses, the attention you got from taking chairshots, going through tables and falling off of cages. It's what's expected of you and you've always carried around the cross of these expectations on you're back. Well, tonight, I'm going to do you a favor and take that cross off of you're back and I'm going to crucify you on it. And as for you Matt Johnson, Keyser Soze from the movie, the Usual Suspects, once said that the cleverest trick that the devil ever pulled was convincing the world that he doesn't exist. Well, I do exist and I'm going to turn that steel cage into your own personal hell and I'm going to be your Satan. Quote the Raven, 'Nevermore'.

4 Exploding Barbed-Wire Boards in each corner and a Bed of Thumbtacks
vs.
                                                                Cactus Jack                                                    Raven
Jack came out without the rest of the Cult, but you had to know they were in attendance somewhere. Both men approached each other cautiously and locked up. Raven grabbed Foley in a headlock and tried to maneuver him into the corner where the barbed wire exploding boards were, but Cactus Jack elbowed him in the stomach and shot him into the ropes. Cactus caught Raven coming off the ropes with a vicious elbow to the face. Jack brought one of the exploding boards to the center of the ring and attempted to suplex Raven onto it, but Raven reversed it and suplexed him to the canvas. Raven then irish-whipped Jack into one of the exploding boards in the corner. Jack hit the board and the explosion burned off half of his shirt. Cactus tried to free himself from the board, but was caught on the barbed wire. Raven got a steel chair and whacked his former friend across the skull with it as he was trying to get untangled from the barbed wire. Raven then brought the bed of thumbtacks into the ring and attempted to powerbomb Jack onto it, but Cactus reversed it and backdropped Raven onto the exploding barbed wire board that they had put in the center of the ring. Jack got some thumbtacks and scattered them on the canvas. Cactus rubbed Raven's face into them until his former friend wore the crimson mask of blood. Cactus then whipped Raven into the other board on the other side of the ring. Cactus then grabbed the steel chair and ran at Raven with it, but Raven kicked it back into Jack's face. As Jack stumbled around, Raven set up one of the already used barbed wire boards in the ring and piledrove Cactus right onto the barbed wire, opening him up. Then in a vicious move, Raven put Cactus' head in the thumbtacks and hit Mrs. Foley's baby boy right in the skull with a chair, driving Cactus' face into the thumbtacks. Raven then evenflowed Jack onto one of the used boards, but surprisingly could only get a two count. Raven continued to stomp on Cactus, which brought out the Sandman and Al Snow. Snow hit Raven with the Head and held him for a cane shot from the Sandman. Raven ducked the cane shot, which hit poor old Al, and evenflowed the Sandman. This gave Cactus time to recover and he tossed some thumbtacks into Raven's face and double-arm ddt'ed him onto one of the used boards. Cactus called to the back and out came former L.O.D. member, Goldberg. This must be what Johnson had planned for the former L.O.D. members, to soften Raven up before the cage match. Goldberg hit the ring and nailed Raven with a sidekick to the head. Jack set up a the last exploding barbed wire board in the corner and propped Raven up in front of it. Goldberg turned it up for the spear and ran at Raven, who ducked and used a drop toe-hold to send Da Man careening into the exploding board. Jack called to the back again and out came Justin Credible with his singapore cane. Credible tossed his cane to Cactus, but Raven lowblowed him and took it away. Raven waffled Jack in the head with it and evenflowed him into the bed of thumbtacks! Raven rolled Cactus over and pinned him for the victory. After the match, the Undertaker emerged from the crowd and tombstoned Raven to soften him up for the next match. winner-Raven

Steel Cage Grudge Match
vs.
                                                     HWF owner-Matt Johnson                                         Raven
The winner of the match would be the man who escapes the cage first. Seeing that his arch-nemesis was down, Johnson quickly ordered the cage to come down and started stomping on the injured Raven. Johnson rammed his enemy's head into the cage numerous times, busting him open even further. The C'Ville Icon backed Raven into the ropes and chopped him, Flair-style. This served as a wake-up call as Raven grabbed Johnson, threw him into the corner and whaled away on him with both fists. Raven set Johnson up on the top-rope for a superplex, but because he was so fatigued, took too long, which allowed the C'Ville Beacon of Truth to push him to the canvas. Johnson then went to the top-rope and rethought it and went to the top of the cage. He flashed the Jimmy Snuka sign and dove off the cage. Sadly, he found nothing but canvas as Raven moved out of the way. Raven picked up Johnson and threw him like a javelin face-first into the cage, busting him wide open. Both men fell to the canvas and bled profusely. Somehow, Johnson made it to his feet first and called for the Johnson Bomb. He went for his finisher, but Raven backdropped him into the steel cage. Raven then evenflowed the cWo leader and went to climb over the cage. As he got to the top, and cWo members, Rob Van Dam, the Warlord, Bob "The Razor Studd" Weber ran down to ringside and Erik "The Even Badder Guy" Bushey, climbed the cage on the outside and nailed Raven with a steel chair. Raven then fell to the mat with a thud. Johnson got up and in an incredible display of strength, considering that the C'Ville Icon weighs in at 155 pounds of twisted steel and sex appeal while Raven goes about 235, Johnson Bombed him to the mat, but he had lost too much blood to make it out the door and he collapsed to the mat in a bloody heap. Bushey ordered the ringside ref to open the cage door and Van Dam went inside to try and drag Johnson out of a pool of his own blood. This brought out Scott Hall, Kevin Nash, and Shawn Michaels who brawled with the cWo members at ringside. Right when it looked like RVD was going to get Johnson out the door, Triple H came through the crowd, shoved Van Dam out of the way and slammed the heavy cage door right on Johnson's head. This was obviously pay back for Johnson costing Triple H the title in the ladder match and you know they say pay backs are a b*tch! Raven evenflowed Johnson in the ring and went over the top of the cage for the victory. winner-Raven
Next Year's Preview
Since HWF owner and cWo leader, Matt Johnson won't have access to a computer over his summer vacation, this is the last HWF for about 3 or 4 months. But when we return, Johnson has promised that there will be hell to pay for Triple H and the Outsiders 2000 for helping Raven win the steel cage match. The cWo isn't the only faction that the Outsiders 2000 have to worry about as the former tag-team champions, The Pump Masters will be looking to regain their belts and the hatred between the reformed Triple Threat of Jeff Jarrett, Sid and Shane Douglas and the members of the Outsiders 2000 is well documented. Also, Steve Austin will have new challenges to face as the HWF World Champion because we all know Johnson won't rest until a cWo member holds that title. And what about improbable U.S. champion, Mikey Whipwreck? How long will he hold on to the title? Be sure to keep reading about these issues and all of the other stars of the HWF when it starts again in the fall. Thanks for reading.
