Johnnie...In Need of a Liver Transplant
My husband Johnnie, a Jacksonville resident and a member of Mount Carmel Baptist Church, was a concrete finisher for nearly 26 years.  He recently changed jobs and initially was told that the company would offer medical insurance for about $25 a week.  The company gathered all of the employees together to have dinner and sign up for medical insurance.  About a month later, employees hadn't heard anything so a few of them inquired but were told that "Not enough employees signed up, so we did not get it."  He has cirrhosis of the liver, which caused him to develop liver cancer, and is waiting to be placed on the liver transplant list.  Without raising at least $300,000 he will not be placed on the liver transplant list.  He got sick on the job and was taken to St. Vincent's Hospital, and there he was diagnosed with liver cancer but was released because they didn't have a liver specialist on staff.  St. Vincent's suggested that he go to Shands Gainesville because they accept patients that don't have insurance however, when he visited Shands Gainesville they refused to place him on the liver transplant list because of no medical insurance and because he doesn't have at least $300,000 to pay for the liver transplant.
Johnnie, needs your help! We are asking for a donation of just $5.00.  That's it.  If you are interested in Saving a Life, we have established a fund through the National Transplant Assistance Fund, in order to assist in paying his uninsured medical expenses.
