First Generation

Matilda KEARNS was born 1797 in NC according to census records. She married before 1815 possibly in Lee Co., VA to William RANDOLPH. (see RANDOLPH family). She was baptized 23 Apr 1815 by the pastor of the Thompson Settlement Baptist Church. She moved with her husband and children to Macon Co. (now Dewitt Co., IL) by 1830/1. She was living in Logan Co., IL in 1860 and is reported to have died 2 Jan 1863 in Bloomington, McClean Co., IL where she is buried in the Evergreen Cemetery with "Smith and Lena." She was the mother of at least thirteen children: Levi, Love, Mary, Willoughby Harrison, Sarah, William, Josiah, Jehu, Selina, Matilda, Moses M.C., Louisa, and Adoniram Judson RANDOLPH.
