First Generation

Johann Jacob HUFFHINES (HOFHEINTZ) may be the same Johann Jacob Hoffheintz who came to Pennsylvania from Rotterdam on the ship Two Brothers on 21 Sep 1751. On the same voyage was one Johannes Kriestman who may have been the father of Johanne's future daughter-in-law Anna Maria Chrisman. "Jacob Hofhains" made his will 24 Jul 1793 in Guilford Co., NC. He names his wife Mary Elizabeth, sons Jacob, David, Christian, Phillip, daughters Barbara and Elizabeth. The will was probated August 1793.

A record of the marriage of Jacob to Mary Elizabeth ---- (or Anna Maria) has not been found.

Second Generation

The children of Johann Jacob and Mary Elizabeth Huffhines were:

(1) Johann Daniel HUFFINES born circa 1755 PA. His will was made 15 May 1822 Orange Co., NC and proved May 1822. He married about 1779 to Lucretia SADLER.

(2) Johann Phillip HUFFINES was born 1758 PA and died 7 Oct 1825 Orange Co., NC. He was married to Barbara Elizabeth TICKLE.

(3) Christian HUFFHINES was born 1764 PA. He died 1853 Simpson Co., KY. He married about 1795 to Anna Maria "Mary" WILLIARD, born 24 Jun 1774, the daughter of George Williard and Eva Lauer.

(4) Johann Jacob HUFFINES was born 15 May 1769 PA. He was baptized in the Trinity Lutheran Church, Berks Co., PA. He died Aug 1819 Guilford Co., NC. A deed dated 28 Aug 1820 Guilford Co., NC names his heirs. He married circa 1791 to Anna Maria CHRISMAN, the daughter of Jacob Chrisman and his second wife Barbara Kraemer.

(5) David HUFFINES was born about 1775 Orange Co., NC. He married about 1799 to Mary Magdalena "Molly" TICKLE (1771-1871) the daughter of John and Mary Tickle.

(6) Mallena HUFFINES not named in Jacob's will.

(7) Christina HUFFINES not named in Jacob's will.

Third Generation

The children of Johann Jacob Huffines and Anna Maria Chrisman were:

(1) Elizabeth HUFFINES was born about 1793 and died 21 Aug 1841. She is buried in the Olvey Cemetery, Green Twp., Hancock Co., IN. She married about 1817 to William AMICK who entered land in Hancock Co., IN in 1833.

(2) Sarah "Sally" HUFFINES was born 5 Aug 1795 and died 12 Sep 1864 Vernon Twp., Hancock Co., IN. She is buried in the Maple Grove Cemetery in that county. She married 24 Jan 1813 in Guilford Co., NC to William THOMAS. p> (3) John HUFFINES was born 18 Oct 1797. He died 5 Jan 1858 Rockingham Co., NC. He was married 12 Oct 1818 to Sarah BROWN (1799-1877).

(4) Mary"Polly" HUFFINES was married 20 May 1819 Guilford Co., NC to John WILSON.

(5) Catherine HUFFINES was born 1801/2 NC. She died circa 1880-2. She married first in October 1820 Guilford Co., NC to Robert MARSHALL. She married second 12 Jan 1841 in Hancock Co., IN to James DENNEY (1797-1856).
